🌱 Our garden project is underway! 🌱 Over the last two weeks, our children have been hard at work preparing our entry for the North Sydney Garden Competition.
When asked if they would like to enter, the response was a very enthusiastic chorus of “YES!” The children shared their ideas for the perfect children’s garden, which simply had to include butterflies, bees, flowers, rainbows, strawberries, green plants and a magic tree. 🦋🐝🌸🌈🍓🌱🌳✨
The children carefully planted new seedlings including carrots, peas, capsicums and strawberries. They later returned to spread mulch, water the plants and place plant labels throughout the garden.
There was lots of excitement along the way, as we spotted a worm 🪱 and observed our native bees 🐝 who love to visit our gardens.
These hands-on 🤚🏽 experiences develop children’s sense of responsibility, learning how living things depend on one another and discovering the joy of caring for the environment. We can’t wait to show the judges our Guthrie gardens! 🌿💚
