We are THRILLED to see Jess Bennett, founder and owner of Love Shack Studios on the 2026 MPEG Forum to speak on “Safe Studios – What Does It Mean to Run a Safe Studio?”

Jess’ extensive experience in the music industry has fuelled a deep commitment to inclusivity, and the creation of Love Shack Studios, where musicians can show up authentically and create without compromise. Their involvement in this panel is a natural fit, and an important opportunity to continue opening conversations, and creating pathways, towards safer, more inclusive studios for women, GNC, POC and LGBTQIA+ artists.

Love Shack Studios has always been about creating a safe, welcoming space for people to make music, especially for those who may not have felt supported or included in other creative environments. That’s why we’re so excited to see founder and owner Jess Bennett taking the stage at this year’s MPEG Forum to speak on “Safe Studios – What Does It Mean to Run a Safe Studio?”

The MPEG Forum is a once-a-year gathering that brings together producers, engineers and music industry professionals to connect, learn and help shape the future of music production. Through panels, discussions and networking with leading industry voices, the event is designed to engage, inform and inspire the broader music community.

Jess has long been passionate about fostering inclusive, supportive and professional creative spaces. Their contribution to this important conversation reflects the leadership, care and advocacy they bring not only to Love Shack Studios, but to the wider community and music industry as a whole.

Our thoughts and heartfelt best wishes are with the small business owners and workers impacted by the devastating fire at the Westgate Bridge Industrial Park in Spotswood overnight.

So many local makers, trades, artists and small businesses call those workshops home, and today we are thinking of our community, and especially of our friend Tony Mead from Industrial Art Sign Co, a long-time resident of the precinct, and hoping for the best possible outcome from this terrible incident.

Today our thoughts are with the many small businesses, workers and families impacted by the devastating fire at the Westgate Bridge Industrial Park on Hudsons Road in the early hours of this morning.

For so many local businesses, these spaces are more than just warehouses or workshops. They represent years of hard work, sacrifice, passion and livelihood. To see part of our community affected in this way is incredibly heartbreaking.

A huge thank you to the crews from Fire Rescue Victoria, alongside Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and all emergency services who responded swiftly to bring the blaze under control and safely evacuate nearby residents.

Right now, the focus is on supporting those affected and standing together as a community. Spotswood has always been a resilient, close-knit neighbourhood, and the community is already rallying around the businesses and individuals impacted, offering support, care and solidarity during this incredibly difficult time.

As Le***an Visibility Week 2026 (April 20–26) draws to a close, it’s a moment to reflect on why this week matters so deeply.

This global movement celebrates all le****ns, cis, trans and non-binary, while championing inclusivity, visibility, and representation. It’s a time to uplift voices, recognise leadership, and highlight the importance of community, culminating in Le***an Visibility Day tomorrow, April 26th.

At Love Shack Studios, creating a queer-friendly, inclusive space is part of everyday practice, where people feel safe to express themselves, be celebrated, and truly belong.

Because visibility isn’t just about being seen, it’s about being valued, heard, and supported, this week and always.

Huge thanks to everyone who came down, soaked up the vibes and made Spotswood Summer Sessions such a joy!
