Not quite full-time. Not quite part-time. Just us-time.

We dream of travelling full-time.
Of swapping schedules for slow mornings, and the grind for more time together.
But dreams don’t pay the rego, so for now, we do what we can.

Weekend escapes when we can afford the fuel.
Late-night caravan mods when the kids are finally asleep.
And an online business we’re building slowly, not because we’re chasing hustle,
but because we want choices.

More freedom. More memories.
Less stress. Less “maybe next year.”

This page isn’t about showing off a lifestyle.
It’s about sharing the becoming,
the learning, the mistakes, the not-there-yet-but-trying-anyway moments.

We’re not influencers.
We’re not full-timers.
We’re just a regular Aussie family trying to turn a big dream into something real, one step at a time.

👉 If you’re working toward something too, even if it feels miles away, you’re in good company here.

This is why we do it.

Not for the kilometres covered.
Not for the perfect van setup.
Not even for the bucket list campsites.

It’s this.

Slow, quiet mornings.
Bare feet in the sand.
Coffee in hand while the kids run up and down, collecting shells, giggling with every “treasure” they find.

We’re not travelling far right now, just soaking up what we can, when we can.
And honestly? These small moments are the big ones.

👉🏼 We’re curious:
What’s one thing you’ll never compromise on in a caravan?
Fridge space? Bed layout? Off-road capability? Let us know 👇🏼

Our second caravan, the Jayco Starcraft Outback, was part of some of our favourite family getaways.

We’ve towed it from the seaside to the red centre, camped on farmstays, explored abandoned townships, cooled off at waterparks, and caught up with friends and family along the way.

Every trip looked a bit like this: overpacked van, stuff crammed in wherever it would fit, and at least one heated debate about Tara’s “brilliant” direction skills.

We learned what we actually needed (after packing everything we didn’t), made a few roadside fixes, and somehow managed to sleep in it while Tara was pregnant with our second. Not the most glamorous experience in the small East to West Bed, but we made it work .

Oh, and we’ll never forget those couple of below-zero nights. We froze. Lesson learned. That’s when we decided a diesel heater wasn’t a luxury. It was essential!

It wasn’t perfect, but that’s family travel, right?

A little bit chaotic, a whole lot of memories.

Flashback to when we excitedly bought our very first caravan, the Windsor Rapid.
She wasn’t anything flash, but she was ours.

We would sit up late at night sewing the canvas ends while our first baby slept.
We packed her full (probably overpacked!), hitched up the car, and didn’t go far.

Just a few local weekend trips, kangaroos hopping past our site, noisy birds waking us up, and peaceful little parks that felt like a world away.

We didn’t need much.
Those small trips filled our hearts in big ways.

It’s funny how something so simple can stay with you forever.
