In the coming period, Lotte de Raadt will be joining us to strengthen our ceramics project. As a designer, she specializes in developing sustainable ceramic products, making conscious and responsible choices at every stage of the process.
Her work is characterized by a minimal and timeless aesthetic, often created using materials provided by the earth. In each design, she seeks a careful balance between human needs and respect for nature.
Lotte also conducts in-depth ceramic research, experimenting with (residual) minerals that she collects locally around her workshops in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and near her new home and studio in Fågelsjö, Sweden. In addition, she explores the possibility of reusing and embedding waste materials into her designs, transforming discarded or residual resources into valuable components of new ceramic work. This hands-on, research-driven approach demonstrates her strong connection to place, material, circular thinking, and process.
She would be an especially valuable asset to our ceramics team in Aruba because of the cultural heritage possibilities embedded in her way of working. By researching and working with locally available materials (including potential waste streams) she can help explore how Aruban landscapes, minerals, traditions, and even discarded materials might be translated into contemporary ceramic design.
This approach strongly connects to the development of the orange economy, where creativity, culture, circularity, and sustainable production generate social and economic value. Her expertise can inspire new perspectives on local identity, material innovation, waste transformation, and the future of ceramics within Aruba’s creative sector.
We look forward to a successful and inspiring collaboration with Lotte de Raadt!
