At the Atlanta Film Festival (ALTFF) 2022, Bangladeshi filmmaker Nuhash Humayun's horror short film 'Moshari' won the Jury Award for Best Narrative Short. In all three short film categories, the ATLFF qualifies for the Academy Awards.

'Moshari' has been selected for the Marché du Film-Festival de Cannes and the SITGES Festival International de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya's Fantastic 7 category, in addition to earning the award at the 2022 ATLFF. These accomplishments are icing on the cake for Bangladesh's film industry's driving forces.

In March of this year, 'Moshari' made its global premiere at the SXSW Film Festival 2022. Sunerah Binte Kamal of 'No Dorai' fame and Nuhash's niece Nairah Onora Saif feature in the 22-minute film.

"Working with familiar horror elements, 'Moshari' constructs a totally surprising edge-of-your-seat story that brings real world social-political realities into a brilliant unique world," the ALTFF jury remarked of the award-nominated picture.

The ALTFF has been screening independent films since 1976, with a focus on female-directed films, LGBTQ films, Latin American films, Black films, and films from the American Southeast.

It currently provides satellite Internet access coverage in 32 countries where its use has been licensed, with plans to expand to global coverage.

According to the official website of Starlink, which is currently accepting pre-orders from Bangladesh, Elon Musk's satellite internet service is expected to launch services in Bangladesh by 2023.
