Most businesses still think SEO ends with their website.

Google just proved otherwise.

With the new "Platform Properties" in Google Search Console, you can now track how your "Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube" content performs in Google Search and Discover.

That's a bigger deal than it sounds.

For the first time, Google is giving creators and marketers a clearer picture of how social content contributes to organic search visibility.

Imagine knowing:

1. Which Google searches bring people to your YouTube videos

2. Which Instagram posts earn the most impressions from Google

3. Which topics attract real search demand before people even visit your website

This changes how we should think about content.

Instead of asking:

"Should I publish this on my website or on social media?"

A better question is:

"How can this piece of content help people wherever they search?"

The lines between SEO, social media, and content marketing are becoming increasingly blurred.

The brands that win won't be the ones creating the most content.

They'll be the ones creating helpful content across multiple platforms and measuring what actually gets discovered.

SEO is no longer just about ranking web pages.

It's about building a searchable digital presence.

If you're a marketer, business owner, or content creator, this is one Google Search Console update you shouldn't ignore.

Are you excited to see your social content data inside the Search Console?

The biggest SEO change isn't rankings.

It's this:

People are slowly moving from:

"Search → Click → Browse"
to:
"Ask AI → Get answer → Buy"

If AI becomes the shopping assistant, your homepage matters less than your reputation.

What AI notices:
• Structured data and entities
• Reviews people actually trust
• Consistent brand mentions across the web
• Real customer experiences
• Clear topical authority

The brands trying to rank for 100 things may struggle.

The brands becoming the go-to source for 1 thing may win.

Search is shifting from visibility to trust.

Most eCommerce brands will never rank for “golf shoes” even if they have good products.

Why?

Because Google already trusts the big players.

If you want to compete for a keyword with 90.5K monthly searches in the US and 33.1K in the UK, you need more than basic SEO.

Here’s what actually moves the needle:

• Build a dedicated category page, not just product pages
• Add unique buying-guide content on the category page

• Target sub-intents like:
- waterproof golf shoes
- spikeless golf shoes
- golf shoes for wide feet
- men's golf shoes
- women's golf shoes

• Use strong internal linking from blogs and related categories
• Optimize collection filters so Google can crawl high-intent variations
• Add real product reviews and FAQ schema
• Improve category page EEAT with expert buying advice and sizing guidance
• Focus heavily on image SEO because golf products perform well in Google Images
• Build backlinks from golf blogs, sports sites, and golf equipment reviews

Most stores fail because they treat category pages like product archives.

Google wants category pages to behave like landing pages.

That’s the difference between page 5 and page 1.

Most people chase keywords.

Smart businesses chase intent.

“Shoes” gets traffic.
“Best running shoes for knee pain” gets buyers.

Big brands optimize for volume.
You optimize for decisions.

Because not every click matters.

Only the clicks that are ready to act.

Stop asking:
“How much traffic can I get?”

Start asking:
“How close is this person to buying?”

I don’t focus on traffic.

I focus on what traffic does.

Does it buy?
Does it convert?
Does it bring revenue?

Because traffic alone is meaningless.

Anyone can increase traffic.

Run some blogs. Target easy keywords. Done.

But turning traffic into customers?

That’s the real game.

My approach is simple:

Start with buyer intent
Optimize product & category pages
Build SEO around revenue, not vanity metrics

It’s not the easiest way.

But it’s the only way that actually grows a business.

I’m currently working with a few eCommerce brands on fixing exactly this.

If you want help, message me.

Let’s see if your SEO is actually making you money.

“We tried SEO before. It didn’t work.”

I hear this all the time.

And honestly, most of the time...they’re right.

Because what they got wasn’t real eCommerce SEO.

It was:

Cheap blog content
Random keywords
Zero conversion strategy

No focus on product pages.
No intent targeting.
No revenue thinking.

Just activity.

SEO didn’t fail.

The strategy did.

Good SEO is slow, yes.

But it’s predictable when done right.

Bad SEO is also slow…

Just without results.

If your past SEO didn’t bring sales, it doesn’t mean SEO is dead.

It means it was done wrong.

If you’re considering trying again, do it differently this time.

Or you’ll get the same outcome.

How I structure eCommerce SEO for revenue:

Not all keywords are equal.

I break them into 3 levels:

1. Transactional (money keywords)
“buy iPhone 17”
“running shoes price”
These bring buyers.

2. Commercial (comparison keywords)
“best running shoes”
“top coffee machines”
These bring people close to buying.

3. Informational (traffic keywords)
“how to run properly”
“coffee benefits”
These bring awareness.

Most stores do this wrong.

They spend:
80% effort on informational
15% on commercial
5% on transactional

That’s why traffic grows… but revenue doesn’t.

I flip it.

Start with transactional.
Then commercial.
Then informational.

That’s how SEO actually drives sales.

If you want, message me “keywords”, and I’ll break yours down.

5 eCommerce SEO mistakes quietly killing your sales:

1. Ranking blog pages instead of product pages.
You’re attracting readers, not buyers

2. Ignoring “price”, “buy”, “order” keywords.
These are literally money keywords.

3. Weak or duplicate product descriptions.
Google doesn’t rank copy-paste content.

4. No internal links to money pages.
Your important pages get zero authority.

5. Treating SEO like content marketing.
SEO ≠ blogging. It’s intent matching.

Most stores are doing at least 3 of these right now.

And wondering why traffic doesn’t convert.

Fix these, and you’ll see the difference.

Which one are you guilty of?
