While developing this one-off project for City Bank, the sole brief was just ‘freedom’. As a team, ChaShingara Lab identified that freedom is more than often a personalized concept. Freedom consists of one too many things, and it varies from person to person. To celebrate the 50th Independence Day of Bangladesh, we wanted to outline a distinctive communication that aligns with the definition of freedom for the mass.

Our chief writer Nusrat Maati wrote an intimate script based on this fabric, for producer Jun C and director Mahmuda Sultana Rima to visualize it on screen. With the help of the CS team, our Tech & Research Analyst Moztaba Zahid creatively supervised the project throughout. Amreen Musa’s beautiful voiceover along with the poignant music by Rakat Zami elevated the tone of the film.

সিটি ব্যাংকের এই প্রজেক্টটি নিয়ে কাজ করার সময় ব্রিফ ছিলো শুধুমাত্র একটি বিষয় – ‘স্বাধীনতা’। চা-সিঙ্গারা ল্যাবের সবার মতে, স্বাধীনতা ব্যাপারটি বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই ব্যক্তিগত। স্বাধীনতা অনেক কিছুর সম্মিলনীতে তৈরি এবং এর অর্থ মানুষ ভেদে পরিবর্তিত হয়। বাংলাদেশের ৫০তম স্বাধীনতা দিবসে এসে, আমরা এমন একটি ফিল্ম তৈরি করতে চাচ্ছিলাম যেটা সাধারণ গণমানুষের স্বাধীনতার একটা পূর্ণ ধারণা দিতে পারে।

এই চিন্তা থেকে আমাদের লেখক নুসরাত মাটি একটি স্ক্রিপ্ট লিখেছে, যেটি টিভির পর্দায় ফুটিয়ে তোলার জন্য কাজ করেছে প্রযোজক জুন সি এবং পরিচালক মাহমুদা সুলতানা রিমা। চাসিঙ্গারা টিমের সাহায্য নিয়ে আমাদের টেক এবং রিসার্চ এনালিস্ট মোজতবা জাহিদ পুরো প্রোজেক্টটার সৃজনশীল তত্ত্বাবধানে করেছে। রাকাত জামির সুরেলা মিউজিকের সাথে আরমিন মুসার ভয়েস ওভার এই পুরো ফিল্মটিকে নিয়ে গিয়েছে আরো ভিন্ন এক উচ্চতায়।

চা সিঙ্গারা ল্যাবের পক্ষ থেকে সিটি ব্যাংক, লাইন প্রোডাকশন সার্ভিস প্ল্যানবি এবং অ্যাপেলবক্স ফিল্মসের সকলকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ। আশা করি ফিল্মটি সবার ভালো লাগবে!

On the verge of Bangladesh turning 50 years, the musical film ‘Joy Hok’, a project initiated by ChaShingara Lab & directed by Piplu R Khan, is an homage to the rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and his spirits. The musical film manifests a juxtaposition of our time and the time documented by Nazrul himself.

The song celebrates the independence of women over human vices & sufferings, epitomizing a few powerful, yet forgotten goddesses. Azmeri Haque Badhon , embodying the fights of every woman, is a force of all the natural and supernatural.

This is a promo ChaShingara created to celebrate the spirit of the on-going 'Quarantine Short Film Fest 2020'. The short film entangles the combined effort of many of our friends from all over the world. Shibu Kumer Shill poured his heart out in writing the beautiful narration, complimented by Jaya Ahsan's magical voiceover.

Truly introducing ChaShingara to a larger spectrum, this film represents what our team believes in- the sincere collaboration of like-minded individuals.

We dedicate this film to the young filmmakers, to show that all that matters is your thoughts. Wish it nudges you to turn your stories into impressive short films!

'কোয়ারেন্টিন শর্ট ফিল্ম ফেস্ট ২০২০' – আয়োজন উদযাপনে চাসিংগাড়ার এই প্রোমো ভিডিওটি তৈরি করা। শর্ট ফিল্মটির পিছে রয়েছে চাসিংগাড়ার অসংখ্য বন্ধুবান্ধব, শুভানুধ্যায়ীদের সহযোগিতা। শিবু কুমার শীলের চমৎকার লেখনি, সেই সাথে জয়া আহসানের জাদুকরী কন্ঠ- এই দুইয়ের মেলবন্ধন অসাধারণ ন্যারেশনটি।

চাসিংগাড়াকে ব্যাপক পরিসরে পরিচিত করা ছাড়াও, ফিল্মটি চিত্রিত করে আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য। সমমনা কিছু মানুষকে একসাথে কাজ করার ক্ষেত্র তৈরি করে দেওয়াই মূলত চাসিংগাড়ার অভিপ্রায়।
