Deciding to discover the rest of the world, I moved out of the fashion industry and show business and decided to market American weight loss and nutrition products, which offered me the freedom to travel, with my family and to start a new life. Exciti
ng yes, easy no. The risk of the unknown and settling my family in foreign countries, was both exciting and tough, as funds were limited and no revenue was coming in until my new business would start to make a profit. We started in Thailand where training local people in how to market weight loss products, presented a language barrier, so I had to think quick, I found a local interpreter, which turned out to be a wise investment in overcoming my insecurity of public speaking. Sometimes having no choice is the best lesson. "If you can make it there you’ll make it anywhere”
HOLIDAY RENTALS
After some years living in Asia, Europe and America, we settled in Rome, in 2000, where I was looking for a new direction, so I launched a holiday rental business and called it Italy-Accom. These were the days of travel and tourism. Again the language barrier was a challenge, though I quickly realised that business, has an international language and communicating in my limited Italian, I started my new on-line company and of course my immediate clients were Australians traveling to Italy looking for short term accommodation, my timing was right and it worked. I have lived in five countries, a life full of experiences, some of these experiences, took me to the edge, yet they have all brought me to the point of my current career. Today, as a grandfather living in London, I’m grateful for my past, because it’s through choosing to have lived the life I have, which has moulded me into who I am today. All those things which I was afraid of doing and did anyway, I now teach others to do. COACHING
