১। যে কোম্পানি থেকে ডোমেইন কিনবেন তাদের সাথে ডোমেইনের প্রাইজ নিয়ে বিস্তারিত কথা বলে নিন।
২। পরের বছরের রিনিউ চার্জের পরিমান জেনে নিবেন। অনেক প্রোভাইডার অফার দিয়ে অনেক কম মূল্যে বিক্রয় করে তবে রিনিউয়ের সময় সাধারন মূল্যের চেয়ে অনেক বেশি চার্জ করে।
৩। ফুল কন্ট্রোল প্যানেল বুঝে নিবেন EPP কোড সহ যাতে পরে কোন সমস্যা হলে আপনি ডোমেইন ট্রাস্ফার করো অন্য প্রোভাইডারে যেতে পারেন এবং রিনিউ করতে পারেনে।

২। Privacy Protection: সম্ভব হলে এই প্রাইভেসি প্রোটেকশন এনাবেল করে রাখবে। এটি করার জন্য আপনাকে বছরে ২-৪ ডলার পে করা লাগতে পারে। এটি করার উদ্দেশ্যে হলো অনেক সময় Whois থেকে ডোমেইনের মালিকের ইমেইল এবং ফোন নাম্বার নিয়ে স্পামিং করা হয

৪। Domain Secret: এটি হচ্ছে সবচেয়ে সেনসিটিভ একটা বিষয়। আপনার ডোমেইন প্যানেলে ডোমেন সিক্রেট অপশনে আপনি একটা কোড পাবেন যাকে EPP Code বলে। এই কোডের মাধ্যমে আপনি ডোমেইন যেকোন সময় অন্য প্রোভাইডারে ট্রান্সফার করে নিতে পারবেন। যেমন Name Cheap ট্রান্সফার করে W3 Techniques এ নিয়ে আসব
৫। Theft Protection: ডোমেইন নেম রেজিস্ট্রেশন এর পর পরই থেফ্ট প্রোটেকশন অন করে রাখা উচিত এতে করে আপনার ডোমেইনের EPP Code অন্য কারো কাছে থাকলেও সে আপনার ডোমেইন ট্রান্সফার করে নিতে পারবে না।

ডোমেইন নেম কি?
ডোমেইন হচ্ছে কোন একটা ওয়েবসাইটের নাম যেমন, www.google.com এটি একটি ওয়েব সাইট যা সকল ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারকারী তার ওয়েব ব্রাউজারের মাধ্যমে দেখতে পারে। এখানে তিনটি W হচ্ছে যথাক্রমে world wide web আর google.com হচ্ছে সেই ওয়েব সাইটের মূল নাম। প্রথমত এই ওয়েব সাইটের একটি আইপি এড্রেস থাকে যা প্রত্যেক ওয়েব সাইটের থাকে আপনি চাইলে সেই আইপি আপনার ব্রউজারের এড্রেসবারে দিয়ে ওয়েব সাইটটি দেখতে পারবেন কিন্তু সমস্যা হচ্ছে আপনি সব ওয়েব সাইটের আইপি এড্রেস মনে রাখতে পারবেন কিন্তু ডোমেইন নেম থাকলে আপনি তা সহজেই মনে রাখতে পারবেন
ডোমেইনের গঠনঃ
প্রত্যেক মূল ডোমেইন নেমের দুটি অংশ থাকে। একটিতে নাম এবং আরেটিতে এক্সটেনশন যেমন, www.google.com এখানে google হচ্ছে ডোমেইন নেম এবং .com হলো এক্সটেনশন। এসব এক্সটেনশনগুলো ওয়েবসাইটের এবং প্রতিষ্ঠানের ধরন অনুযায়ী সিলেক্ট করা হয়ে থাকে। নিচে কিছু ওয়েবসাইটের ধরন অনুযায়ী ডোমেইনে এক্সটেনশনের উদাহরন দেওয়া .com এটি সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যবহৃত ডোমেইন এক্সটেনশন। সাধারনত এটি কমার্শিয়াল কোম্পানির ওয়েবসাইটের জন্য ব্যবহার করা হ.net এটি এক বা একাধিক নেটওয়ার্কের কোম্পানি বা প্রতিষ্ঠানের ওয়েবসাইটের জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয.org এটি অর্গানাইজেশন বা অলাভজনক সংগঠনের ওয়েবসাইটের জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়.info এটি তথ্যভিত্তিক বা ব্যক্তিগত ওয়েব সাইটের জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়.me এটি সাধারনত ব্যক্তিগত পোর্টফোলিও ওয়েবসাইটর জন্য ব্যবাহার করা হয়।
জেনে নেই TLD ও CCTLD কি?
TLD মানে Top Level Domain, উপরে যেসব ডোমেইনের উদাহরন দেখানো হয়েছে তা সবই Top Lavel Domain ।ccTLD হলো country code top level domain যা বিভিন্ন দেশের জন্য নির্দিষ্ট করা কিছু ডোমেইন থাকে যেমন, .com.bd/.in/.PK
ডোমেইন নেম সিলেক্ট করার সময় যেসব বিষয় গুলো খেয়াল রাখবেনঃ
১। সহজ নাম নির্বাচন করতে হবে যাতে সবাই সহজে মনে রাখতে পারে।
২। নাম সংক্ষিপ্ত রাখতে হবে যাতে দেখতে এবং শুনতে সুন্দর লাগে আর মনে রাখতে ও সহজ হবে।
