ইটের বিকল্প ও ব্যয় সাশ্রয়ী নির্মাণ উপকরণ নিয়ে দীর্ঘদিন গবেষণা করছে বাংলাদেশ হাউজ বিল্ডিং রিসার্চ ইনিস্টিটিউট (এইচবিআরআই)। প্রতিষ্ঠানের গবেষণায় উঠে আসে ইটের বিকল্প কনক্রিটের ব্লকের কথা। এই ব্লক নির্মাণ করা হয় সিমেন্ট,বালি ও নুড়ি পাথর দিয়ে। ইটের মতো পোড়াতে হয় না। বেশ কয়েকটি প্রতিষ্ঠান নিজেদের নির্মাণে ব্যবহার করছে ইটের বিকল্প কনক্রিট ব্লক। কিন্তু প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো তো সেই ব্লক খোলা বাজারে বিক্রি করে না। তাহলে সাধারণ মানুষের কী হবে?
