🛑 More likes but no sales? You may have fallen into the trap of "vanity metrics"!
Many of us are very happy when we see the reach, likes or shares of our page's posts. We think, "Wow! My marketing is going great." But at the end of the day, if you go to the cash counter and see zero sales, then what is the benefit of those likes?
This is where the difference between "Vanity Metrics" and "Actionable Metrics" comes in.
📉 What are Vanity Metrics?
In simple words—the number of likes, shares, views or followers.
These look very nice, they boost our ego or complacency. But they do not directly deposit money in your bank. If someone does not want to know the price of the product in their inbox even after receiving 1000 likes, then you must understand that something is wrong.
📈 Why are conversions or leads real?
Conversion means when the customer takes an action. For example:
• Sending you a message.
• Go to the website and click the 'Order Now' button.
• Fill out the lead form.
• And finally—buy the product.
💡 Business mantra:
There is a saying in marketing: "Vanity metrics look good on paper, but actionable metrics pay the bills."
That is, likes add beauty to the page, but conversions or sales cover the costs of your business and bring profit.
✅ So what to do now?
Don't create content just to go viral, create content that solves people's problems and makes them interested in buying your product. It is much more profitable to get 10 genuine buyers (Leads) than 1000 people just watching.
