Less Clutter, More Clarity: A Shopify Homepage Case Study
Client Need: The client wanted a homepage for his Shopify store that would make it easy for customers to understand everything about his store at a glance.
Starting Point: The client already had a design they liked and shared it with me as a reference. After reviewing the design carefully, I found that it was pretty good, but there were a lot of things I needed to improve.
My Approach: I first asked him for 2 days to show me a basic draft of my work. I told him: "If you like the design after seeing it, you pay."
What I created in those 2 days:
1. A simple header design, with an announcement bar above it that says "Shop Bestsellers," linking directly to the best products, so customers can easily find the best-selling products.
2. Below that: a menu aligned on the left, the brand logo in the middle, and the search and cart icons on the right.
3. A simple hero section.
4. A carousel section of a best-selling product, with a one-line highlight of the number of reviews as social proof.
5. A detailed product section that explains each product in detail, with a few additional sections to complete the page.
Result:
After 2 days, the client reviewed the design and liked it. He requested a few minor changes himself, which I implemented. He then completed the payment.
In a total of 4 days, I delivered a beautiful, fully built Shopify homepage design, and the client gave excellent feedback on the final result.
