I spent $126 and got zero conversions yesterday. Here's why I didn't panic. π
Yesterday, I updated a house cleaning client's ad group β new images, new video, new titles. The ad group had been performing "average," so I made the call to refresh it.
Today's numbers:
π 804 impressions
π±οΈ 15 clicks
π° $126 spent
β
0 conversions
If you're newer to running ads, this is the moment that makes you want to panic and revert everything immediately.
Here's why I didn't:
New creative doesn't go live and perform instantly. It goes through approval, and the algorithm needs time to relearn which signals matter for the new assets. A single day β especially with only 15 clicks β isn't a big enough sample to judge anything. That's noise, not a trend.
So instead of reacting, here's what I'm actually doing:
1οΈβ£ Confirming the new assets are fully approved, not stuck "under review" and getting limited delivery
2οΈβ£ Double-checking conversion tracking is still firing correctly β the #1 silent killer after any ad edit
3οΈβ£ Comparing today's CTR/CPC against the account's normal average, not just staring at the conversion count
4οΈβ£ Giving it a full 2-3 days before deciding anything
This is the part of running ads that doesn't get talked about enough: knowing the difference between a real problem and a normal fluctuation is what separates good account management from panic-driven decisions that make things worse.
Change everything at once after one bad day, and you'll never actually know what caused the dip β or whether there even was a real problem to begin with.
I'll share how this plays out over the next few days.
