What should you make your YouTube videos about? There's an infinite amount of options, so it's important to think about this before you begin. Three things to focus on to attract viewers and help your video achieve viral status are:
• Education
• Information
• Entertainment
Educational videos show how to do something or how something works. You've probably seen millions of successful “How To” books educating people on a certain topic. This can be an effective type of video that adds value for your target market.
Informational videos provide useful information. You can tell people about changes in the way that Social Media works, advances in technologies, local news or any current information that would be useful or interesting to other people.
Entertaining videos can be anything that people enjoy watching. Examples are humor, travel, music and dance. If you can work on something that combines two or three of these areas, it's even more powerful.

YouTube is a powerful resource for your business to get exposure and communicate with your audience. One of the key concepts of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), for example, is how different levels of communication function to transmit a message. Interestingly enough, it’s been found that only seven percent of communication is actually the words that you say, or the words that are written. I know a lot of people would expect that number to be much higher. Another 35 percent of communication is the tone and volume of your voice.
So if you’re in a phone conversation you’re missing 55 percent of your communication. That 55 percent includes:

That’s why video is so powerful. It’s one of the fastest growing mediums on the Internet.
If people were to ask me what the future of the Internet is and what’s going to dominate the flow of information, I would say it’s always going to be video. Video is your highest form of communication on the Internet because you have 100 percent of the communication conveyed.

Open VS Closed Networks
To understand how Social Media sites can help drive traffic and improve SEO, you need to understand that there are two main differences in Social Media sites.
Open vs Closed Networks
Open sites seen by Search Engines: Twitter FB Like Page YouTube
Social bookmarks/tagging
Examples: Digg.com (link) Delicious.com (link) Countless others
Closed networks are social networking sites that only friends or member can see. This can be true of any site that has a login. I often have clients who ask me if their sites can be optimized, but all of the content is in a password protected area that only members with a password can access. Think about it - if you or I cannot see those pages then neither can the Search Engines.
If you type in Andrew Zirkin and Facebook into Google and you are not my friend and are not logged into Facebook then you will only see a limited profile that includes some of my friends and the info I decided to share based on my privacy settings, but as of now my wall is not public. Facebook is a closed network, meaning the content on my wall is not seen by the Search Engines and neither are the links back to my site.
Google cannot log in to your page or anyone else’s pages, and they probably don’t want to considering they index over 40 billion other web pages.

1. Repurpose some of your content. For example: if you’ve recorded a video, create a written transcript of the video and make a blog post out of it. Get creative and use content again and again.
2. Consider creating an audio version of an article or blog you’ve written. Then create a podcast or YouTube video to give your content another purpose.
