Here's a few SEO statistics that I find particularly interesting:
1. The pages in the top 10 positions are on average 2+ years old. (Ahrefs)
2. Top pages in Google have approximately 3.8 times more backlinks than lower-ranked ones. (Backlinko)
3. 92% of marketing specialists claim link building will be a key ranking factor in Google’s search engine algorithm in the next five years. (Search Logistics)
4. Almost 95% of pages have no backlinks at all. (Backlinko)
5. It Takes On Average 3.1 Months To See The Impact Of Links On Search Rankings (authorityhacker)
6. Guest Posting Is By Far The Most Popular Link Building Tactic (authorityhacker)
7. SEO agencies charge $2,501-$5,000 per project, on average. (Ahrefs)
8. 57% of B2B marketers claim that SEO is the most effective digital marketing initiative. (Gitnux)

Based on the above data, I would assume the following:
1. Backlinks work and that's without question, but their effects are more delayed than 1 year ago. Most seasoned SEO experts agree on that.
2. Companies pay hefty sums of money for their SEO campaigns. Because they see how effective it is, even today.
3. SEO is becoming a more long-term strategy for businesses that care about their brand visibility.
