For years, Call Only ads displayed your number on mobile and pushed users straight to the dialer, making call tracking simple and reliable. But that era is ending.

Here’s the timeline:

• February 2026 — you can no longer create new Call Only ads
• February 2027 — all remaining Call Only ads stop running
• Until then, they may still serve, but expect declining performance as the format winds down

What replaces them? Call assets.

Call assets attach to your responsive search ads, and Google decides when to show your number. You lose the guaranteed visibility Call Only ads provided — giving Google more control and reducing precision for call-heavy advertisers.
