Blue-green infrastructure can greatly contribute to restoring the natural water cycle and increasing evapotranspiration in urban areas, writes our managing director Luigi Petito in the Summer edition of Living Architecture Monitor as head of the EU Chapter of the World Green Infrastructure Network (WGIN).

In January 2020 we were asked to set up and run the European Chapter of WGIN. Another exciting task to improve the quality of urban areas and help cities to reconnect with nature.

Job opportunities at Business Solutions Europa: Policy and Communication Consultants

Role: we are looking for two motivated Policy and Communication Consultants to join our small and dynamic team. They will mainly be involved in association management and advocacy programmes for a range of private clients.

Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: energy efficiency, energy transition and decarbonisation, sustainable buildings, resource efficiency and sustainable development.

The Policy and Communication Consultants will:

1. Monitor policy and regulatory developments in the area of energy and sustainability, with focus on energy efficiency
2. Draft reports, policy briefings, letters, speaking notes, position papers, press releases, infographics
3. Design and organise workshops, events and bilateral meeting programmes with EU officers, MEPs (in Brussels and Strasbourg) and other stakeholders (in Brussels and abroad)
4. Assist clients (mainly trade associations) with the organisation of regular internal governance meetings (working groups and board meetings); the management of relations with current members; and the creation of opportunities for membership development
5. Design and execute communication activities; manage websites and social media profiles; ensure representation at external events
6. Be involved in other activities including European funded projects, the organization of international congresses and business development.

Languages: A perfect command of English is a must. Good spoken and written French is a plus.

Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience.

Type of contracts offered: full-time under the Belgian law.

Start date: Mid September 2019.

Working environment: Brussels, in a beautiful and modern working space in the heart of the European Quarter.

Yesterday we were busy (and very happy) with two major events during the European Sustainable Energy Week 2019

We covered two very important topics such as sustainable finance and the water-energy nexus.

It was great meeting a lot of old friends and we developed several new connections with very competent people in these areas.
