The ocean doesn’t care about your to-do list.
I’m someone who loves productivity. I love a good goal. I love the feeling of moving, building, expanding, crossing things off with intention. That energy is real, and I’m not apologising for it.
But underwater, something in me shifts.
There’s no Notion. No inbox. No algorithm deciding if you’re relevant today.
Just light filtering through water. Just you and whatever is living down there, completely unbothered by your five-year plan.
I forget I need oxygen.
I forget what time it is.
I forget, for a few minutes, that I’m a person with responsibilities.
I become something closer to a mermaid than an entrepreneur and somehow, that version of me is the most alive.
Here’s the twist I keep coming back to:
The best ideas don’t come from pushing harder.
They come from the moments when you finally stop.
The ocean isn’t the opposite of ambition.
It’s where ambition goes to breathe.
So yes, let’s keep your goals. Keep your momentum. Keep building the thing.
But find your underwater. Whatever it is for you.
The place where time stops, noise disappears and you remember why you wanted any of this in the first place.
That place isn’t a distraction from your dream.
It is the fuel for it 🌊🪸🐚
