ACS Hong Kong celebrates 10 years in business

A party was held in the exclusive, aviation-themed China Clipper Lounge at the Peninsula Hotel in downtown Hong Kong to celebrate the tenth anniversary of ACS Hong Kong and its decade of growing charter business.

Overall from the airshow, Airbus says it won new business for 431 commercial aircraft, made up of 93 firm orders and 338 MoUs, comprising 60 x A220-300s, 304 x A320 family
aircraft, 42 x A330neos and 25 x A350 XWBs. It resultingly raised its total for the year to 752 aircraft (354 firm and 398 MoUs).
Boeing confirmed a total of $98.4 billion in orders and commitments for 673 commercial aircraft at list prices including freighters. Specifically for the 737 MAX, it secured 564 orders (including 110 for the largest MAX 10 variant) while its B787 widebody received 52.
Along with the 300-aircraft, $15 billion blitz from Embraer, more than $20 billion in engine deals by CFM International and Pratt & Whitney, and an encouraging number of orders from other manufacturers such as ATR, Bombardier, Sukhoi and COMAC, the 2018 Farnborough Airshow delivered record orders and firmly pierced the looming shadow of Brexit with
a dazzling performance.

In this ‘Age of the App’, there is seemingly an app for everything, including pre-ordered in-flight meals. Originally introduced in 2017, Alaska Airlines’ First Class Pre-Select is now available on more than 200 Boeing-operated flights daily, including most flights over four hours in duration, all coast-to-coast flights and flights between America’s West Coast
and Hawaii. The hope is to roll-out the service across all flights.
Ordered via the Alaska Airlines app, first class passengers can reserve their meal choices (between two entrées or Alaska’s Signature Fruit and Cheese platter served on
a first class plate) from between 24 hours and two weeks in advance of departure time.
