Ever had one of those moments when your brain switches between languages so smoothly that you don’t even notice it?

If you work with several languages every day, you might recognize this:

“Hola, I’ll send you the final version après la réunion, mas primeiro preciso revisar el último cambio.”

Spanish. English. French. Portuguese.
And somehow… it still makes perfect sense. 😅

Your multilingual brain doesn’t stop to translate every word. It just follows the meaning and keeps going.

Can you read the sentence without mentally translating it?

And be honest: how often do you find yourself mixing languages like this without even realizing it? 👇

Did you know? September has a little secret hidden in its name.

The name comes from the Latin septem, meaning seven.

So why is September the ninth month of the year?

Because in the ancient Roman calendar, the year originally began in March.

That means:

March → 1
April → 2
May → 3
June → 4
July → 5
August → 6
September → 7

Then January and February were added to the beginning of the year… but the names stayed.

💡 A calendar changed. The words didn't.

Welcome back to iQUIZ!

September means getting back to work, and for those of us in the language industry, back to juggling multiple languages every day. 🌍

But sometimes the languages in your head have other plans… 😅

Have you ever started a sentence in one language and finished it in another?
Bonus points if you can remember the funniest example!

Ever heard this story about August?

Imagine this...

Emperor Augustus looks at the calendar and thinks:

"Why should Julius Caesar have a 31-day month... and not me?" 👀

According to a popular legend, he solved the problem by taking one day from February and giving it to August.

A bold move... except it never actually happened. 😄

The Roman calendar had already been reorganised before the month was renamed in Augustus' honour, so August already had 31 days.

Sometimes history is less dramatic than the stories we tell about it!

Have you ever wondered what language AI "thinks" in?

The answer might surprise you: it doesn't have a mother tongue.

Large Language Models (LLMs) aren't born speaking English, Spanish, or any other language. Instead, they're trained on vast amounts of multilingual text and learn to recognise patterns, relationships, and context across many languages.

That's why they can switch between languages so naturally, but also why human expertise is still essential to capture nuance, culture, and intent.
