You don’t have to live like a monk, to think like a monk.
We watched the city of Ridgeway welcome these travelers with open arms, curiosity, and endless respect.
You don’t have to walk thousands of miles to foster a shared connection like this.
Respect, peace, and meeting another where they are at.
If someone believes one way, should you try to sway them. ? Well, if you do, you might fail…
In fact, id you push someone to change, there comes a resentment
We spend so much energy trying to convince others to change their beliefs.
To see it our way.
To move faster.
To be different.
But the moment pressure enters the room, so does resentment.
The gap between your expectations and what is, that’s where suffering is created.
This walk, of relentless acceptance…
acceptance of your conditions, pain, for other’s decisions and who there are.
This walk is not one that ends in Washington, but one that continues forever. And everyone is invited…
Before we ask for peace on a larger scale,
we have to practice it in our relationships,
in our reactions, in the space between disagreement and respect.
If you want to walk with those monks, the first step is towards kindness…
