Enhancing Learning Environments and Promoting Literacy: Rotaract Club of Oyo Central , Rotaract District 9126 Basic Education and Literacy Project

The Rotaract Club of Oyo Central successfully executed its Basic Education and Literacy Project at Durbar Grammar School on 26th September 2024. This initiative aimed to enhance the learning environment and promote literacy among students. It also improves the physical learning environment for academic growth and provides essential resources to underprivileged students.

Activities
- Donation of New Chairs: New chairs were provided to replace old, uncomfortable furniture, creating a more conducive learning environment.

- Painting of School Entrance: The entrance was freshly painted, fostering a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.

- Installation of New School Gate: A new gate was installed to enhance safety and security for students and staff.

The project was carried out in collaboration with the school's administration and the local community, with Rotaract members volunteering their time and skills.

MEET ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT, STEPHANIE URCHICK, 2024/25

Stephanie Urchick is seen as a uniter. Find her at any event, and you'll see people gathered around her, listening intently — much like players gather huddled around their coach. They unite, all a part of the same team

Genuine, authentic, kind, committed... a few of the many words frequently used to describe 2024-2025 Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick.

Three facts about Stephanie:

1. She's the biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan 🏈
2. She can Polka with the best of them 💃
3. She studied Russian, Serbian, Italian, and French in school 📚

Until 30 June 2025, that team is Rotary, and Urchick is our coach. So there's really only one thing left to say: Game on💫

On July 1, 2024, Rotaract Club of Surulere South, Rotaract District 9110, partnership with Afri vacx Foundation, AMCH Foundation, NYSC Surulere Division, and 7 other Rotaract clubs across Nigeria, executed a maternal and child health project at MCC Gbaja Randle Hospital.
The project included:
- Donation of 100 pregnancy diaries to expectant mothers
- Provision of mosquito nets to the hospital ward for malaria prevention
- Health talks on malaria in pregnancy, successful breastfeeding, and the importance of immunization

This collaborative effort aimed to improve maternal and child health outcomes in the community.

The partnering Rotaract clubs included:

- Rotaract Club of Mushin
- Rotaract Club of Medilag
- Golden Rotaract Club of Gbagada
- Rotaract Club of Lagos Mainland
- Rotaract Club of Umungasi Aba
