River front stay
Design inspiration :
Whenever I think about the south(southern Bhutan), the most vivid memories are that of extreme heat and long sunsets.
It was hard to do anything during the day time cause of the weather but the evenings were completely opposite with beautiful orange sunsets , cool river breezes and nights filled with stars, -almost double the number of Thimphu-
So while designing this , all the spaces opens up to the sea breeze and the courtyard with the open sky, really making it an oasis during the hot summer nights . Even the rooms are open to the courtyard making it a part of a larger backyard space

Extension of a hospital-Lungtenphu, Thimphu
Status-completed
Extension works are always the hardest as other than the regular design prospects , so much work goes into harmonising the old and new spaces.
Roofing is also one obstacle when extending an old structure, so while designing, it was made sure that we didn’t have to completely Change the old roof.

The new ward has 5 new rooms with 2 waiting rooms

-the two staircases which are inspired from old watch towers(ta Dzong) breaks the long building into 3 blocks .
