It's Tuesday, time is 2302hrs. It might be late but post still relevant most.

Today, I want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on an exceptional individual who has been making waves in the photography industry here in Botswana. Thalefang Charles is not just a talented photojournalist; he's a mentor, a storyteller, and a true advocate for creativity.

Thalefang's passion for photography goes beyond capturing stunning images; he's dedicated to sharing his knowledge and opening doors for upcoming creatives like myself. In a time when resources were scarce and guidance was hard to come by, Thalefang stepped up to the plate, offering invaluable insights and opportunities to those eager to learn and grow in the field of photography.

Through his lens, Thalefang not only captures moments but also emotions, stories, and the essence of our community. His images speak volumes, giving voice to the untold narratives that deserve to be heard. But his impact doesn't stop there. Behind the scenes, Thalefang selflessly mentors and supports aspiring photographers, nurturing the next generation of storytellers.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Thalefang's influence is how he brings creatives together, forming a tight-knit family united by a shared passion for visual storytelling. Through workshops, collaborative projects, and networking events, Thalefang has cultivated a supportive community where ideas are exchanged, friendships are forged, and creativity thrives.

Today, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Bra Mchalo for his unwavering dedication, his generosity, and his commitment to elevating the art of photography in Botswana. Your passion, talent, and willingness to uplift others inspire us all. Thank you, Thalefang, for being a guiding light and a beacon of creativity in our community.

Here's to you, Thalefang Charles, and to the countless stories you've yet to tell. Your work leaves an indelible mark on our hearts and minds, reminding us of the power of visual storytelling. Danko Bra Mchalo

Perfect Pictures vs. Imperfect Realities πŸ“Έ

Ever snapped what seems like a perfect shot, only to spot a glaring distraction later? That's the story with this giraffe photo. The giraffe stands tall, but behind it lurks a dead tree, a total distraction.

Editing can fix it, sure. But here's the debate: Should we edit out imperfections to make the picture perfect? Some say yes, it's about capturing the moment at its best. Others argue no, it's about keeping it real.

So, what's your take? Perfect pics or embracing imperfections? Let's chat!

Hey Friends and Family,

I wanted to share a bittersweet moment with all of you. Recently, I had the incredible honor of photographing the beautiful union of my dear friend Tsholo, who is now officially Mrs. Raps! πŸŽ‰πŸ’

It's been an amazing journey capturing the love and joy of so many couples on their special day. From the laughter-filled mornings to the tear-jerking vows, each wedding was a unique chapter in the love stories I had the privilege to witness and document.

However, as some of you may already know, shooting weddings comes with its fair share of challenges. From payment issues to technical glitches(that costed me clients losing their content and delayed submissions), it hasn't always been a smooth ride. Yet, through it all, the experience has been incredibly rewarding.

I've met and worked with phenomenal brides and grooms, each with a unique tale to tell. Along the way, I've not only documented weddings but also had the privilege of becoming a part of new families forming through my lens. πŸ€πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦

After much thought, I've decided to take a break from shooting weddings for a while. It's time for a new chapter, new challenges, and perhaps a different focus in my photography journey. I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the amazing couples who trusted me to capture their special moments. πŸ™β€οΈ

To those who've become more than clients – thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. Your stories will forever hold a special place in my heart. πŸ’–

Here's to new adventures, different horizons, and the wonderful memories that will last a lifetime! 🌟 If you have any non-wedding photography projects or events, feel free to reach out – I'm excited to explore new avenues with my camera lens. πŸ“·βœ¨

Cheers to love, laughter, and the beautiful stories yet to be told! πŸ₯‚πŸ“Έ.

BUS TRIP...WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER ABOUT YOUR FIRST BUS TRIP?

Well im a 90s Kid, nako tsele tsabo T.J le Seabelo. With Volvo B7s before Marcopolos. In those few hours of travel you're stuck with strangers, some wonderful people, some weird. We are here to talk about those yeh!? Let's start with obvious group.

BUS CLOWNS
Tsena ke tse di serious make miles go by fast. They'd literally make fun of everyone and have met all celebrities le boTautona tota. By the time you get to the next village everyone's got their ribs literally in pain ke go tshega. It's surely not a skill but talent. Ase Mma mpha lebogobe...next group..

You only get to see their teeth go tshegiwa mo baseng hela...Rakgadi ago..tjoh..If you manage to get the seat they will make things uncomfortable for you whole trip.......

THE EATER
Ah yaya these ones would literally have every fast food outlet lunch pack yeh...Chicken Licken..KFC...Mafresh..Pie..you name it. By the time the bus leaves the rank, they'd have chowed half what they brough. By the time you get to the next vilage/town food is done and they'd still get more...You gotta love em, le disweets wa fiwa.

COOL GENT SITTING NEXT TO THE PRETTIEST GIRL IN THE BUS
Now this one, ay...i've always wanted and dreamed of being this guy yeah. But life decided otherwise. Even to this day. Well the only prettiest lady i've sat next to has always been my Old lady...my lady and daughter. Now back to this guy who we all hate/love. He'd literally come from nowhere and charm his way to that sit. Soft spoken, go tshegelwa mo menong. Utlwe ngwana a tshega tshega hela. Iyow...By the time the bus reaches their destination they already a couple....We all know that dude right??

They literally are the first to drop off. Story sesa hela shem. Hithele nkare oka gologa nae a hetsa story. They will drop you like that last scene of GOT or EXTRACTION.

"Daddy Was My Hero"

Just after sunset was driving from my only shoot for the day when i saw this gentleman buying what i presumed snacknyana for bana ko g*e. It got me thinking.... "How will my daughter remember me when im gone?"... Will she remember me by what she saw,!? A perfect creation of God!? or the battle scars of waking late at night wondering what i'd feed them the following day. Am i doing enough to provide for her!? I wondered.. Oh will she remember me as her hero.

A hero who battled with depression trying to fend for her. The battles i lost trying to make ends meet that eventually won by end of the day. Even if it meant i had to lose something valuable.

I wonder if she knows she's the real hero. Cause whenever i as a father feel like giving up and making all the pain stop forever just a thought of her destroys the suicidal thought. I wonder.

"Papa"...what a privilege go bidiwa yalo. Even when the world sees you as nothing, there is that one little person that sees you as a hero. ....And im alright my peopleπŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ neke mpa ke itseetse dikgang hela. Neke admirer NTATE.

If You've never attended a wedding in Ngami, then consider yourself UNLUCKY.

Ngwao e tshegeditswe. By 5AM they're up and proceedings are on. I arrived at 4:43AM, it was pitch black but luckily not as cold as the south was.

There was nothing but silence, and silhouettes of what i presumed bo Malume. With just a candle lit ga gare ga lapana. The mood was tense and coming from Mmangwato(ke mokgatla toga ke seka), i got the urge go dumedisa but wasn't sure if i'd ruin the proceedings so i did my preps in silence.

I counted a few less than 7 figures in the dark. After setting up my lighting gear. Hit the first shot. Then BOOM...Bomme where already there, BoMalume and the Bride's Mom. About 15+ botsadi was there. At 4:50AM!!! I wondered. What time did they get here...What time did they wakeup...Did they stay up all night ba emetse thabo ya letsatsi?? i wondered.

One thing i love about shooting traditional weddings is you get to learn alot about our cultural groups and how they do things. Ruri go tsamaya ke go bona.

There is also this practise they call "POPELETSO".... I won't share much. But nextime you're invited to attend a wedding ko Ngami. My friend, GO. Do yourself a favour...JUST GO
