Proud moment for our CEO, Modiri Mogende, who had the honour of MC'ing the Ministerial Visit to Morupule Coal Mine hosted under the Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme (CEEP), themed "Motswana Oa Kgona: Empowering Citizen Businesses Through Mining Supply & Value Chains."

The engagement brought together Honourable Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, Minister of Minerals & Energy, MCM leadership, and citizen business partners for a morning of reflection, recognition, and forward-looking dialogue, from the CEEP journey and ministerial address, to the awarding of certificates on Demo Day, a citizen supplier exhibition, and a guided tour of MCM's operations.

It was a privilege to help guide such a meaningful platform for citizen economic empowerment and local content development in Botswana's mining sector.

CEDA and Debswana just signed an MoU to back entrepreneurs and SMEs across the country.

With more partnerships like this, we’re seeing real investment in local businesses, local ideas, and local growth.

Today’s agreement signals a stronger push to develop and support Botswana entrepreneurs.

The Future of Mining Summit 2026 brought together industry leaders in Gaborone to discuss Mining for Transformation: Economic Diversification and Shared Prosperity. Hosted by The Projects Magazine in partnership with the Botswana Chamber of Mines, the summit examined mining beneficiation and Botswana’s role in shaping the future of mining globally.

Our managing director, Modiri Mogende, served as Master of Ceremonies, facilitating dialogue across policy, investment, and beneficiation as the summit set the agenda for Botswana’s next phase in mining.
