Established in 2008, Pumet Unique Designs (Pty) Ltd is a 100% citizen owed company located in the Industrial Area of Selebi-Phikwe Botswana. With a total floor space of over 6000 square meters, our factory has the capacity and capability to make a large amount of garments including the washing and finishing of them. Our factory is designed and positioned as a high specification manufacturing plant
to meet the demands of international markets. All roads within the country are tarred and the factory is located within 150km of the nearest airport, and approximately 450km from the capital city, Gaborone and 600km from Johannesburg, South Africa. It is our understanding that there are ongoing plans by the Government to refurbish and extend the airport in Selebi Phikwe so that international flights can come directly to Selebi Phikwe. Mainly the quantity for export is based on the assumption that due to the AFRICA GROWTH AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (AGOA), SOUTHERN AFRICAN CUSTOMS UNION and SADC have passed certain acts and signed treaties which directly affect the marketing capabilities of the company in the aforesaid markets. Botswana has an added concession in terms of AGAO and qualifies in terms of the third country fabric concession. The company is also at an advantage due to other local incentives that are offered by the Botswana Government to support citizen owned manufactures. Pumet is an integrated knit/woven manufacturing facility of garments in Selebi-Phikwe, Botswana. It is made up of two knitting/weaving plants and one washing plant. The garment industry is labour industry and provides economic growth to the region where it is located. The factory has the capacity to employ up to 2000 people when running at maximum productivity. Most large scale producers of this community are exporters and earn valuable foreign exchange for their country and Pumet is not an exception.
