MIRACLE LEAGUE FALL SEASON UNDERWAY — The 2026 fall season for The Miracle League of Amherstburg started Sept. 12 with special guest - multi-time Canadian Paralympic medalist and Team Canada sledge hockey captain Tyler McGregor - in attendance. Games run every Saturday, weather permitting, through Oct. 17 with the Halloween party being Oct. 24 at the Columbus Community Hall, Amherstburg.

MUSIC OFF THE BACK PORCH — The season finale for Music off the Back Porch occurred Sept. 11 with EdPiano Piano & Vocals (Edward Haru) and Compass Rose performing. It was held behind the Park House Museum with donations going to the museum. Organizer John McDonald now shifts his focus to "Friday Night Live," which sees its return being Oct. 23 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Amherstburg.

The County of Essex is advising of a road closure on County Road 20 (Front Road N.) between County Road 10 and Malden Road that is expected to last 5-7 days. It starts Monday, Sept. 14. The County of Essex is installing a temporary four-way stop at the intersection of County Road 10 (Middle Side Road) and Concession 2 North (County Road 5) to help with traffic flow.
The closure is to accommodate a culvert rehabilitation project.
The county is advising motorists are to plan ahead and allow additional travel time when following the posted detour, which makes use of Malden Road (County Road 3), Laurier Parkway, Howard Ave. (County Road 9) and Middle Side Road.
"After County Road 20 reopens, motorists should expect lane restrictions in both directions for about three additional weeks," the county advises in its post.

Attention motorists in Town of Amherstburg - Town Hall News: The County of Essex is installing a temporary 4-way stop at the intersection of County Road 10/Middle Side Road and Concession Road 2 North/County Road 5 to help with traffic flow during the closure of County Road 20, which begins on Monday, September 14.

County Road 20 will be closed between County Road 3/Malden Road and County Road 10/Middle Side Road for the Sancrainte Drain Culvert rehabilitation project. The closure is expected to last five to seven days.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional travel time when following the posted detour, which makes use of County Road 3/Malden Road, Laurier Parkway, County Road 9/Howard Avenue and County Road 10/Middle Side Road.

After County Road 20 reopens, motorists should expect lane restrictions in both directions for about three additional weeks.

The $1.425 million project is being completed by Sterling Ridge Infrastructure.
