So pleased to work with Justamere Cafe to setup a social media campaign to get the word out about their support of local businesses. This post has done exceptionally well and if you review the list of suppliers its quite impressive how much local products are integrated into their offerings.

I also captured both of these images, so pretty darn stoked about that as well.

KingFreight.com Launched! 🚛✨

A few months ago, we were approached by King Freight Lines Ltd., a trucking company based in Pictou, for a comprehensive website overhaul. From redesigning their logo 🎨 to crafting engaging website copy 📝, capturing stunning on-site staff and drone photography 📸, integrating social media 📱, and providing training and analytics 📊, we delivered a complete solution on time. Our goal was to create a functional and visually appealing website that will support their business growth for the next decade. Quality design lasts the tests of time... -JS

In 1970, Gary Anderson, then a 23-year-old architecture student at the University of Southern California, designed the iconic recycling logo as part of a contest organized by the Container Corporation of America. This logo, symbolizing the recycling process with its three chasing arrows, quickly became a global symbol of environmental consciousness. Anderson’s design not only marked a significant moment in the environmental movement but also demonstrated the power of simple, clear graphic design to convey a universal message.

In Memory of Irene MacLeod

For a third year, a caring group of Antigonishers have come together to provide meals for those in need as a tribute to Irene MacLeod. Gift cards will be purchased from our local grocery stores to be distributed to those in need by a local non-profit organization, A Roof Over Your Head - AROYH. AROYH supports and advocates for the homeless and precariously housed in Antigonish & Guysborough town and counties.

This year’s initiative is being sponsored by Bellwether Family Wealth, Alva Construction, Ian Tate Plumbing & Heating, and Highland Multimedia.

Irene inspired this act of caring because of the huge impact she had on our community. She gave back to her community both publicly and behind the scenes and was very passionate about the fact that everyone should have a roof over their head and a hot meal, especially at Christmas time.

Antigonish is a better place because of acts like this, thank you to everyone for their support.

Irene's Christmas Dinners

Antigonishers have done it again this year and pulled together a caring network of people to offer free Christmas dinners for anyone in need this Dec 23rd or 24th.

How it works is simple, just call Bonnie at (902) 863-4293, at Myers Tea Room by Dec 17th and book your dinner then show up at Myers for pickup before 2pm on the 23rd or no later than 11:45am on the 24th. Please note we cannot offer dine in due to proof of vaccination. If pickup is not possible we do have a limited capacity for deliveries.

This year's initiative is being sponsored by Bellwether Family Wealth, Myers Tea Room, Alva Construction, Napa AutoParts, Ian Tate Plumbing & Heating, Highland Multimedia, Student Taxi and significant contributions by private citizens. I recently completed a logo job for Ability Solutions - Counselling Therapy and Accessibility Consulting.

This is a company created by Kim MacDonald to provide help to organizations optimize their offerings to those with disabilities and to enhance the skill sets and opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

As always a clear idea from the client helps shape a logo but Kim happens to be blind herself so it really gave me pause to examine my own process and how I could convey various choices in a helpful way to match with her vision. As it turns out by being careful to describe the subtle visual elements, like the flat ends on the triskelion, the thickness of the lines, the case used in the words, and lastly the shade of gray there was a comfort and ownership created that gave Kim confidence that what we had developed together was in the direction she was hoping for.
