I was trying to get Jamie to come skiing with me. He mentioned it often, but he wasn’t committing to go. I had a meeting at the CACL, which is, in combination with the Legion, a powerhouse in Antigonish. My buddy Jeff who works there told me Jamie wouldn’t ski with me because he had to work. An incredible commitment to the people he works with. He wouldn’t ski with me, because no one else had the chance. I knew the only way he’d go, is everybody went. We closed shop, and 12 of us skied or snowboarded, some for the first time. Any business that has a participant from the CACL knows that impact it has on all of us. Our business is better, he puts us all in a better spot, and let’s face it, the our crew doesn’t enjoy my hugs. If you have a business and want even just a couple hours a week of help, let me or anyone at work know. Or just grab a coffee at the cafe at the CACL and ask someone about the possibility of work placement. You never know, you may end up playing hooky and skiing the day away!

Hey folks, we’re having trouble with our phones. Sometimes they ring and we can’t pickup or they don’t ring at all. We switched providers and our new phone company assured us that when it is not raining, our phones should work. If it wasn’t our busiest time of the year, and so frustrating not to be able to answer a ringing phone, we’d be laughing about it. We’re working on it. 2025 is new equipment year for us! This one is unplanned, but a new laser is on its way from Montreal. We use laser cutting for some embroidery applications and for our jersey making processes. A friend in Amherst was kind enough to let us hang out in their Laser room for a bit tomorrow to catch us up on our backlog. Love it when friends in business can help you out if you’re in a pinch.

Pretty exciting couple of weeks here on the Post Road! We invested in a new technology with a new fancy printer that is so big, we had to bring it through our window! Then our second machine is a new generation of our current embroidery machines. This will increase our sewing speed by about 20%, but also increases our embroidery capacity from 6 to 8 stations on this swap, making a total of 15 heads. First machine was made in China, today’s is a Japanese machine, and the next one coming is on a cargo ship, I hope, coming from China as well. Nothing like the eve of a global recession to bring on some investment. Please, please keep the 11 of us busy here, as we see what these machines can do!

I ran a big training session today. I expect with this education and inspiration 2025 will be the best ever! In all seriousness, we are investing quite a bit in some new technology here both in printing and embroidery. It’s like welcoming a new baby, we’ve got to get the nursery ready over the next month.
