In honor of Eczema Awareness Month, we’re reflecting on our partnership with the Eczema Society of Canada (ESC), where we helped raise awareness, provide education, and strengthen connections within the community.

We supported ESC in reaching and engaging more Canadians than ever through a fully integrated approach. This included digital campaigns, interactive webinar series, full-service social media management, new creative assets, and a redesigned bilingual website!

We love helping healthcare organizations make a meaningful difference. By combining strategic insight with bold ex*****on, we help our clients expand their reach, engage the right audiences, and achieve measurable results.

💗 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women in Canada, impacting 1 in 8 women. In seven provinces (BC, NL, NS, PEI, NB, YT, and ON), individuals can self-refer for a mammogram starting at age 40. Early screening can help detect breast cancer sooner, leading to less invasive treatments and better outcomes.

We encourage everyone who is eligible to prioritize their health and contact their family doctor or primary care clinic to schedule a mammogram.

To support this important cause, we’re proud to donate to the Canadian Breast Cancer Network, Canada’s only patient-directed national breast cancer charity. They amplify patient voices through education, advocacy, and information sharing, helping to improve outcomes for those affected.

October 10th is World Mental Health Day. At Gibson Group, we believe that mental health should never be a taboo subject and we’re committed to fostering a workplace built on compassion, understanding, and genuine listening.

Every day, people across Canada navigate mental health challenges, many without access to the vital care they need. In honour of World Mental Health Day, Gibson Group has made donations to both the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the Canadian Mental Health Association. These organizations provide services and resources that help make a difference in the lives of Canadians every day.

We’d also like to give a special shout-out to Valerie Gibson who dedicated 25+ years as a Counsellor at CAMH, supporting countless Canadians on their mental health journeys. Her work continues to inspire how we approach compassion and care at Gibson Group.

If you or someone you know needs support, help is available. In Canada, call or text the Su***de Crisis Helpline at 988 for immediate help.

Today, we pause to reflect, listen, and learn. Truth and Reconciliation Day is a time to honour the survivors, families, and communities affected by residential schools. It’s a moment to confront the truths that have been hidden for too long and to commit ourselves to the ongoing journey of healing, understanding, and meaningful action.

In support of this important work, Gibson Group has made donations to the Truth and Reconciliation Week Fund at both the Indian Residential School Survivors Society and the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, helping to fund programs and initiatives that educate, raise awareness, and advocate for Indigenous communities.

We encourage everyone to take time to learn more about this history, and to consider supporting these charities leading reconciliation efforts in Canada.

Every child matters. Every story deserves to be heard.

September is both Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

We’re proud to support Look Good Feel Better Canada as they empower men and women facing cancer.

We’re working with their team to build campaigns specifically aimed at healthcare providers to share LGFB’s incredible workshops for patients navigating the challenges of cancer treatment.

Together, we can help more people find strength, confidence, and community during their cancer journey.

Today is World Hepatitis Day and a timely reminder that hepatitis can’t wait.

In Canada, over 250,000 people are living with chronic hepatitis B or C. Many don’t know they’re infected. Left untreated, these viruses can lead to serious health complications like liver disease and cancer, but with early detection, hepatitis is treatable and, in many cases, curable.

The good news is that getting tested is simple and free. You can talk to your family doctor, visit a walk-in clinic, or connect with a local public health unit. In many Canadian provinces, hepatitis testing is covered by your provincial health plan and offered through routine bloodwork.

Let’s work together to remove the stigma, improve access to care, and build a healthier Canada for everyone!

This Pride Month, we’re proud to support two Canadian organizations making real, lasting impact for the 2SLGBTQI+ community:

Egale Canada: Through research, education, and legal advocacy, Egale is driving cultural and policy change to build a more inclusive Canada for all 2SLGBTQI people.

Casey House: More than a hospital, Casey House is a radically compassionate space offering holistic health care for people living with and at risk of HIV.

Pride isn’t just glitter and parades (though we love both). It’s about showing up with intention, lifting each other up, and building a world where everyone gets to shine.

Lead with love. Celebrate loudly. Donate if you can. And never dim your light!

To celebrate Black History Month, we’re sharing some of the incredible and innovative Black Healthcare pioneers who changed medicine!

Dr. Anderson Ruffin Abbott – First Black Canadian Physician: A doctor and surgeon, Dr. Ruffin was the first Black Canadian-born person to graduate from medical school. He was a civilian surgeon during the American Civil War and later became the head of Toronto City Hospital (later Toronto General Hospital). A passionate advocate for Black education and healthcare access, he spent his later years writing on black history and other topics.

Dr. June Marion James – First Black Woman to Practice Pediatrics in Manitoba: Apediatric medicine trailblazer and the first Black woman to practice pediatrics in Manitoba, Dr. James has dedicated her career to child healthcare and medical education, earning numerous awards for her work including an Order of Manitoba, and the Queen Elizabeth 50th Jubilee Medal, among others.

Dr. Clotilda Yakimchuk – First Black President of the Registered Nurses’ Association of Nova Scotia:
A pioneer for diversity in nursing, Dr. Yakimchuk was the first Black graduate of the Nova Scotia Hospital School of Nursing in 1954, and became the first Black President of the Registered Nurses’ Association of Nova Scotia. Throughout her 50 year nursing career, she worked tirelessly to support Black students in the medical field.

Dr. Patricia Bath - Innovator in Ophthalmology:
Dr. Patricia Bath didn’t just break barriers—she brought sight to many! As the first Black female ophthalmologist to receive a medical patent, she changed the future of eye care. Her interest, experience, and research on cataracts lead to her invention of the laserphaco probe device that removes cataracts and is still in use today.

Their legacies inspire us to keep pushing for a more inclusive, diverse and equitable healthcare system globally. 🌍
