On August 1st, MP Costas Menegakis and MPP Michael Parsa fired up the BBQ for their annual Summer BBQ at the Aurora Soccer Club — and what a great afternoon it was! On July 17th, the Royal Canadian Legion proudly marked its 100th Anniversary—a remarkable milestone honouring a century of unwavering service to Canada's Veterans, military families, and communities. First incorporated on July 17th, 1926, the Legion has spent the past 100 years ensuring the sacrifices of those who served are never forgotten while continuing to provide vital support to Veterans across the country. To commemorate this historic occasion, the Aurora Legion hosted a meaningful day of remembrance and celebration, beginning with a flag-raising ceremony at Aurora Town Park, followed by a second ceremony at the Aurora Legion and a community BBQ that brought Veterans, members, families, and residents together. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the generations of Veterans, Legion members, volunteers, and supporters whose dedication has strengthened our communities and preserved the legacy of those who served.
