They say, “Find something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
We’re not totally sure about the “never work” part… because around here, we’re always working. 😂
But there’s something pretty special about building a career around creativity, connection and doing work that genuinely lights you up.
Behind the shoots, the strategy, the content days, the websites, the emails and the big ideas are a whole lot of moments like these, creating, collaborating, laughing and probably saying, “Wait, get a video of this.”
We work hard, absolutely. But we also get to spend our days doing something we love, with people we love, for clients and brands we truly care about.
And we don’t take that for granted. 🤍

In a way, all views/follows can be good growth.
It depends on your ultimate goals.

I once got over 300k views on a reel
(On my photography page Brand Photographer | Canada )
Which turned into almost 800 new followers
Cool cool
But not cool at all.

Most of the new followers weren’t even in Canada
Where I’m located.

In a past life, this would’ve been great,
But at that time, I was trying to focus on local Ontario business.

Those followers came and went and over the next year my engagement fluctuated and went down week by week.

But I know now is that those individuals were following specifically for that type of content which was interior design Kitchen Renos, etc.
and that’s simply just not what my account’s about.

It did, however, give me lots of insight on growth in creating important goals for your social accounts. My account has shifted to making sure my audience is within 100 km radius, and if that’s not happening, I know my account’s not succeeding.

But what I also learned is that if it wasn’t a one off viral piece of content, And as I shared more similar content, it also went viral, this would show me exactly what to lean into. And that would’ve been great success.

Viral is good
But it’s not the most important factor
