Color is MAJOR when it comes to branding (or pretty much anything). 🗝️ If you've ever wondered why so many corporate logos are blue, makeup brands are white, or cleaning brands are green - there's a reason for that.

Color has a big impact on the human brain. 🧠 People recognize color nearly instantly, and when exposed to specific colors our brain makes us think and feel differently, - sometimes immediately, and sometimes over a longer period of time.

Because of this, we often attach associations to colors, like trustworthiness to blue, health to green, luxury to black, creativity to purple, etc. Choosing the right colors for your brand is crucial in developing brand recognition and attracting the right audience. ✔️ Think carefully about your brand values and what you want your brand to say, and then use color to your advantage! 💪

✨BONUS NOTE:
Colors often mean different things across the world, so if you're looking to speak to an international market make sure you understand that cultural differences impact color meaning depending on where you are.

NEW BRAND ALERT! I am thrilled to finally show you the brand new identity I designed for Sink Or Swim Scuba Inc.

Christina and Trent are the new owners of SOS Scuba, located in Nanaimo Canada. SOS is a PADI 5 star dive centre offering top tier cold water dives, equipment and education. They are young and fun and wanted a brand refresh for their shop.

Colorful and bold (it's what I do), their new logo is super versatile, coming in a variety of formations.

The Giant Pacific Octopus is native to the coastline of British Columbia and can be seen while diving in the crisp teal waters. It's a special animal to Christina and Trent and I wanted to incorporate it for them.

Something I love just as much as a new design is a good cup joe. ☕

is a local Canadian small business I worked with last year. They are an up-and-coming concept cafe on Vancouver Island operating out of a custom built tiny home! One of the coolest ideas I've ever heard of.

The branding is minimalistic. Earth tones. Straight lines. Lowercase font familiarity. They were aiming for a cozy and modern vibe, and I love how this turned out. Hunch is currently in fundraising and concept stage so they are not yet launched, and there will be more branding coming! Stay tuned.
