Super honoured to cover the STARS Gala tonight 🌟

The community raised over $500,000.00 for life saving emergency medical treatment 🤯

I'm so proud to live in such a generous community 🥹

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

I know it can feel risky to share something like this from a business page. But Hudson House has never really been just a business to me. It’s a place for stories, and some stories are too important to leave at the door.

Truth and reconciliation has been important to me since I first began to understand what I hadn't been taught growing up.

This is a story about that process. About what happened when I began to look more honestly at the history I had inherited, the things I had been taught, and the things I had never been taught at all.

It’s about Indigenous people who trusted me with pieces of their experiences. About the ways I have gotten things wrong. About learning to listen without asking someone else to carry the burden of educating me.

And, perhaps most importantly, it’s about what happens after you know.

Because once you know, you cannot unknow.

I wrote about it here, honestly, imperfectly, and from my own perspective.

If you choose to read it, I hope you’ll receive it in the spirit in which it was written: not as an attempt to speak for anyone else, but as one person sharing what she has learned and what she is still learning.

My heart trembled in my chest as I quietly observed the endless flowers, stuffed animals, and little shoes gathered beneath a tree.

How to earn a lifetime customer.

1. Serve hella amazing coffee
2. Have hella amazing service
3. Call them a cutie

But seriously, my clients are the best 🥰

Ever wonder what I get up to when I'm not behind the camera? Well, probably not 😅 But in case you ever have....I am usually behind a lump of mud 🤪

From harvesting, firing, glazing, and figuring out how the hell to turn it into something worth keeping around, wild clay has become somewhat of an obsession the past several months.

I will be at the Sexsmith Farmer's Market tomorrow from 10am-4pm where I will be selling my incense orbs and candles made from 100% pure wild Alebrta clay! Come say hi if you're in the area 😍

Thanks for watching!

Two years ago, a video like this would have sent me flying off my butt. And here we are. Two years post-burnout. Almost two years since the inception of this little business. Two years since life radically changed.

Sometimes I get actual goosebumps when I stop and think about the fact that this is what I get to do...

The people I've met.
The events I've had the privilege of covering.
The things I've learned.
The stories I've heard.
The places this work has taken me.

Seriously. Goosebumps.

This business has become so much more than I ever imagined it would be. And while I'm still figuring out exactly what it's becoming, I know I'm incredibly grateful to be here. So, thank you.

To the people who follow along, like, share, tell someone about me, send me a message, hire me, recommend me, or quietly cheer me on from the other end of a screen...I don't know if you know how much it means to me.

I can tell you this, though...

It's a damn lot 🤍
