Excited that our colleagues at our sister company in Chicago have ratified its first collective agreement with Teamsters Local 710.

Another huge milestone achieved today!

Teamsters Local 710’s newest members at Universal Promotions overwhelmingly ratified a strong first contract. The 25 promotional products workers who voted to join Local 710 in May have reached an agreement with their employer in less than four months of bargaining.

The new contract includes unprecedented wage increases, additional vacation time and holidays, expanded bereavement leave, personal days, and parental leave.

“One of the most important things we were looking for was strong representation to have a voice in our workplace, and we knew the Teamsters could deliver,” said Cecilia Sandoval, an e-store and inventory controller. “We stood together to secure the best contract we’ve ever had, and we all see firsthand how the Teamsters have our backs.”

The workers at our sister company in Chicago make a solid choice with Teamsters Local 710 to represent them!

Workers at Universal Promotions in Chicago are now proud members of Teamsters Local 710, joining a growing national movement of print graphics workers seeking strong union representation.

The 25 workers provide services ranging from graphic design and embroidery to engraving and screen printing. They wanted to join Local 710 to secure a real voice in the workplace as well as the higher wages, better benefits, and improved work rules that come with a Teamsters contract.

“With Teamsters representation, we will have a real say over how we’re treated on the job,” said Cecilia Sandoval, an E-store and inventory controller at Universal Promotions and new member of Local 710. “We’re excited to negotiate a contract that guarantees we’re treated with respect.”

Today, December 8, Universal Promotions will join our teachers, nurses, and other public sector employees on the picket lines to show our support. Our employees will be picked up by bus at 9:30 AM and will travel to various stike sites around the Montreal-area to stand in solidarity alongside these hardworking men and women. We encourage more businesses to do the same.

Congratulations to Denis Fortin for being nominated Sales Coordinator for our company. Denis has been hard working and devoted to Universal Promotions for over 7 years and totally deserves this position.

To testify, a little note received by a happy customer today.

"I just wanted to take a moment to say what a wonderful job Denis Fortin did in getting us an order of 200 T-Shirts we needed for an on-going STRIKE here in Memphis!
I gave him very short notice and had a couple of changes in the graphic placement and he was able to ‘make it happen’ for us.
He was able to get us good quality shirts at a decent price and EXPEDITE the printing and delivery to us.
I know I can always depend on Denis to do everything in his power to get us What we need When we need it!
Sooooo… with that being said, if you have an “ATTA BOY!” award, Denis truly deserves it! "
