Took the kids to the trampoline park today because our original plans got rained out (seriously… what is with all this rain? 😭☔️).

While we were there, I spotted this giant throne and convinced them to stop for a picture. Thankfully, they loved this chair. 🪑 😌

It was the first thing I noticed when we were walking through the building. Not the trampolines, or the arcade, not even the food counter…

The giant throne. 😂👑

As soon as I saw it, my marketing brain kicked in. It’s fun, it gets people stopping for photos, and with the business name all around it, every picture shared online becomes a little piece of user-generated content.

But it also reminded me of something important:

People don’t always remember what they bought. They tend to remember the things that made them laugh, caught them by surprise, or made them want to pull out their phone and snap a photo.

And those moments don’t have to be complicated! Here are some simple ways to create shareable moments for different businesses 👇

🌻 Farm or outdoor business: a photo-op spot in the field, a giant chair, a flower wall, or a fun sign with your hashtag that people can’t resist posing beside.

🛍 Retail store: a neon sign wall, a themed backdrop, or a fun seasonal display where customers stop for a quick selfie before they leave.

✂️ Salon or spa: a beautiful feature wall, a branded neon quote, or a dedicated “after” photo spot where clients want to show off their fresh look.

🍕 Restaurant or café: a mural, a quirky booth, a giant prop, or a statement wall that’s practically begging to be photographed.

🐒 Family attractions, zoos, and entertainment venues: painted character cutouts, oversized props, themed thrones, or interactive displays where kids can jump in and become part of the photo.

💪 Gym or fitness studio: a branded mural, a “sweaty selfie” mirror, a personal best record wall, or a motivational backdrop where members can snap a post-workout photo and celebrate a new milestone.

What’s one photo opportunity you’ve seen at a business that made you stop and take a picture? 📸👇

Shower thoughts for business owners ☁️ 🚿

Nobody really talks about how weird it is to build something while life is still happening around you.

Like answering emails while making lunch, editing content while your kid asks for a snack and trying to stay creative while also trying to stay afloat.

Sometimes running a business feels exciting, other times draining. But I think the best marketing usually comes from people who REALLY & truly care.

Not just about selling something, but about making people feel something and nurturing relationships with those people.

Just some thoughts from someone whose brain never really stops working.🧠🧠

I’ve been seeing a lot of creators annoyed by Instagram’s new “instants” feature, so I figured I’d show you how to turn it off so those little pictures stop showing up in your inbox 👀

Swipe through to see how to do it 👉

Also… what do we think about this feature? 😂

It kinda feels like Snapchat… but less personal? Like isn’t that what stories were already for or am I missing something here lol

Okay, I KNOW I call every Instagram update a game changer… but this one might actually deserve the title. 😂👀

Instagram is testing a new carousel feature where every slide can have its own caption.

And honestly, from a marketing/SEO perspective, this is kinda insane.

Up until now, carousel posts only had one caption to summarize up to 20 slides. Which meant trying to cram all your context, keywords, SEO, storytelling, and explanations into one tiny space. 😭

But now? Individual captions for EACH slide.

Which means:
👉More keywords
👉More searchable content
👉More reach opportunities
👉More context for every slide
👉More chances to keep people engaged longer

Imagine being able to explain every point properly instead of hoping people “get it” from a headline alone.

For educators, brands, businesses, creators, and literally anyone using carousel posts strategically… this could be big.

Now I just need Instagram to hurry up and give us all the feature already. 😂

Who else is excited for this update?

It’s honestly kinda fascinating how much psychology affects what we buy. 🧠

Two businesses can sell almost the exact same thing, but one feels more trustworthy, exciting, memorable, or worth the money.

A lot of that comes down to how people feel when they interact with the brand.

Things like:

👉curiosity
👉social proof
👉emotion
👉authority
👉scarcity

…all quietly influence buying decisions every day. And once you start noticing it, you see it EVERYWHERE.

But I also think there’s a line between understanding people and manipulating them.

For example, scarcity can work really well in marketing, but only when it’s real. Saying “only 2 left!!” when you have unlimited stock just kills trust long term.

People are way better at spotting forced marketing now than they used to be.

Whether you own a café, a salon, a small shop, a service business, or literally anything in between, understanding why people buy is such a game changer.

Curious which one works on you the most though 👀

Mine would have to be emotion (particularly nostalgia). I am a SUCKER for products that make me feel comfort and familiarity. 🤪

My hot take: I don’t think some captions are bad because they’re AI… I think some captions flop because they sound like everyone else’s. 🤷‍♀️

AI learns from existing content and pulls from what’s already been written. So when everyone starts using it, you naturally get the same patterns showing up everywhere.

Here’s the obvious giveaways for me 👇

👉The same sentence structures
👉The same “If it’s not X, it’s Y” comparisons
👉The overuse of em dashes
👉The overly polished, slightly vague deep statements that don’t actually say anything specific

AI can absolutely help you communicate faster and refine your ideas. Buuuuttttt… it shouldn’t erase your voice in the process.

And the best-performing captions sound like they’ve come straight from human experience & have your personality weaved throughout.

So if you’re going to use AI, use it as a support.. NOT a replacement to your individuality. People don’t connect with vague over-polished writing, they connect with you. 🫵
