I have a passion for all things tourism-related, so this was a fun project to take on last year!
New Age Rentals is still pretty young, but shows a lot of promise when it comes to alternative experiences on the Burin Peninsula. Paddle-board rentals (my personal fave), kayak, canoe, and dory rentals, plus some amazing tour options like shark fishing (for science!), lobster picnics, cod fishing and so much more will cater to any kind of tourist. If you are on the Burin Peninsula during tourist season this year, I encourage you to look them up!

The project itself was very much a co-creation experience. We worked with a lot of elements that were already in place (like the logo and existing professional photos), and integrated the website in a way that would be valuable for the operator. Creating a space for showcasing their tours and rentals was paramount, but some strategic placement of information around accessibility and how to book a tour helps to keep repetitive general questions to a minimum.
The website gives potential tourists everything they need to decide which experience of a lifetime gets them the most excited, while also providing the operator with a little autonomy. All pricing is listed, and the tour and rental descriptions are specific enough to answer most questions. This saves time and energy for both the tour operator and potential tourists.
Even without a built-in booking system, the process to book is pretty simple, and stated clearly in strategic places around the website.
AND the whole thing is responsive, including the contact form. Tourism statistics show us that 79% of travellers (Google/Ipsos Connect, 2017) are using mobile devices to research and book experiences and accommodations, making responsive websites a very important part of the tourism industry.
