On the road again... 🛣️ 🌾

Every summer, we hit the highways and backroads of rural Alberta to meet Vision Credit Union Ltd. members where they live and work.

From Wetaskiwin to Waterton National Park, we capture authentic stories with original photography and videography for Vision's annual Profit Shares campaign.

This year, Richard, Carolynn and Sarah Rae travelled far and wide, scouting perfect shot locations and bringing local communities to life on camera.

We believe great marketing starts with truly seeing our clients — and their communities — where they are. 🤝

Armour for cats and mice? 🐱⚔️🐭

Recently, our team had the opportunity to meet Calgary-based artist Jeff de Boer Sculpture — the genius behind the iconic and internationally known cat and mouse armour.

He's known locally for his captivating toy planes that used to reside at the Calgary Airport's domestic terminal.

Jeff's creativity knows no bounds, blending craftsmanship and imagination to transport viewers into whimsical worlds. At IVY, we live for moments like these — meeting artists who remind us why we chase creativity every day. ✨

Earlier this year, we helped our clients at Vision Credit Union Ltd. with a campaign celebrating the hardworking small and medium-sized business owners in rural Alberta, encouraging them to sign up for Vision's business banking services.

This campaign captured what it means to get down to business in the true Albertan way— resourceful, independent, and unwaveringly committed, and delivered some pretty impressive results.

Here are a few of the highlights ↓↓

📸 On-location photography to capture the rugged and real-life moments of local entrepreneurs.

💬 Punchy messaging like, "Rural Albertans get down to business."

🤝 Real-life stories and member testimonials to show, not tell.

🧑‍🎨 Standout design with a contemporary flair for a fresh, eye-catching look.

And here are some results ↓↓

👉 Across social media, this campaign had an average engagement rate of 6.2% — four times higher than the average rate for financial services!
👉 A featured local business owner blog had a reach of nearly 15K on Facebook, more than five times the amount of followers Vision has on the channel and received an engagement rate of 25% — 25 times higher than the average for financial services on that platform!

Spooky season is in full swing at IVY! 🎃🔮👻

Earlier this month our team took a magical break to celebrate Halloween in true wizard style at The Potion Room just up the street in Inglewood Calgary.

Between the bubbling cauldrons, enchanted cocktails and eerie decor, we had a blast casting spells (and ideas) in a space straight out of a fantasy novel.

It’s these moments of fun and creativity that recharge us and remind us why we love what we do. Here’s to more spellbinding projects with a team always ready for an unforgettable adventure! ✨

You've probably seen the cult classic, American Psycho... 🎬

If you're like us, you're probably recalling that moment in the film when Patrick Bateman whips his business card out of a pristine silver case and says, with *a little bit too much* pride, "New card. Whaddya think?"

That moment might not live rent-free in your head like it does ours, but the scene does have a point: Business cards matter. 🤝

Even though we live in a digital world where connections on LinkedIn may be the most effective way to build relationships, we like the idea of a tangible item to trade with others in our network.

💡 And, in short, they're effective. Here are some facts:

→ Companies that use business cards as part of their marketing efforts have reported a 2.5% increase in sales for every 2,000 business cards distributed

→ 72% of people judge a business by the quality of their business cards

→ 39% of people are less likely to hold onto a business card if it is plain or unattractive. Colourful and customized cards are king!

Our client and friend, Rick Pozniak, was on the lookout for a digital platform that highlighted his expertise in intelligent automation and positioned his company, Move78 Solutions, as a leader in the distribution industry. 🤝

☑️ The project: Create a website and a brand that matched Rick's innovative spirit as a solopreneur and highlighted his professionalism. IVY's mission was to craft a comprehensive online presence for Move78 to increase trust and credibility as well as generate leads for a relatively new business.

A fresh start sure feels good, doesn't it? 👏

That's what our clients and friends at True North Solutions, part of Accenture were looking for when they approached our team with a website makeover project that was years in the making. 🧑‍💻

Like many of our larger projects, this task was a full-team effort. From new brand messaging and layout to task management and design, all of IVY's hands were on deck.

After hours of trying to nail down the focus of the new website messaging, magic unexpectedly happened one afternoon when more than half the team was gathered in our cozy loft kitchen. A rapid-fire back and forth of ideas began and not even 10 minutes later the overall approach was ready for the next steps and the design team was able to take the reins.

The new website for True North Solutions is a project that will go down in IVY history. Not only because of how great the site turned out in the end, but how committed our entire team was to trying new things and working together with our client to push the project over the finish line.

You know the saying, 'Too many cooks in the kitchen'? Well, let's just say that saying doesn't exist around here. 🤝

This year we're celebrating IVY's 25th Anniversary! 🎉🥂

We might have started small, but we've grown into something quite mighty over the last quarter century. ✨

We opened our first docket as IVY Design Inc. in 1999. In the 25 years since, we’ve logged more than 5,000 projects and developed some serious creative chops.

With a fully stacked team of masters in the field of creative and strategic marketing, we're proud of our growth as a company and so thankful for the friends we've made along the way. 💛
