How did Cairn & Cask start?
With photography!
My first camera was a Crayola film camera that i got as a kid. We don't have time for me to name every camera I've had, and who cares anyway?
So, let's skip forward...
I started doing it professionally in high school. I tagged along on a few shoots as part of my co-op and later shot weddings on my own.
I went to university for art, interned for professors, built their websites and edited their photos, showed my own photos in Germany and Canada, and then wasn't sure if I wanted to pursue life as a struggling artist.
Throughout it all, I managed retail teams, opened new locations, and trained management staff.
Seeing how businesses worked and how their marketing and internal/external communications contributed to their success was the kick in the a** I needed to go back to school.
A little more focused the second time around, I knew that I wanted to tell a brand's full story, so I took communications and public relations.
Now, it's not often that I meet people in the world of marketing who can do what I do. (Not to toot my own horn, but toot toot.)
If you want to see how I build brands and attract their ideal customers, follow along! I'll be sharing some of my secrets soon.
Otherwise, just look at some nice photos I took recently. I mostly shoot for brands, but I still dip my toe for family shoots from time to time.
