I have a huge folder on a spare hard drive with a compilation of great images. I don't remember where I saw this but it was inspiring. Reminding me that when I aspired to be an illustrator and designer, almost everyone I knew or was related to told me it was a bad idea.

This is the day where we share with that person (or people) that makes us a better us.
I remember as a kid, we made a big envelope and taped it to the front of our desk hoping to get lots of those hokey valentine cards. There was a girl in our class who had cancer, she was very frail. Nobody was giving her cards. So I helped her jazz up her envelope with drawings and an oh-so clever call to action "put cards here!"
She ended up getting lots of cards and I thought in a small way, I had a part in that (probably didn't but one can dream).

We've been experimenting with sourdough a lot lately with sourdough Naan bread and coming soon–sourdough PASTA. I like the fact that sourdough has much less gluten than other breads and it's a prebiotic; feeding the "good" bacteria in your gut. All hail sourdough.

Throwback Thursday takes me way back. I was Twenty-two; in my second year of art school. The school was having a show and sale and I had a project that I thought I'd put in–it was a parody of those old Joe Weider ads in the back of comic books. I had the idea to make t-shirts from it, but everyone I showed it to said that was a bad idea. I had a hunch and went for it anyways. I invested my rent money to have a hundred t-shirts printed. If this didn't work I'd have some explaining to do for my landlord. The t-shirts sold out in one day, I quadrupled my investment and paid my rent for four months. Looking back, it isn't a very good drawing but maybe that was its charm. Mike was a classmate, the only person who thought it was an OK idea.
