It’s Saturday of May long weekend in Calgary and, true to form, it’s snowing. ❄️

Not exactly patio weather… but honestly? It might be the perfect day to go shopping indoors and plan for next weekend, when the forecast is looking a lot more like summer.

Last spring, that’s exactly how I found one of my favourite local discoveries: **West Peak Tile & Stone’s Patio Pop-Up**.

I was searching for patio furniture on Facebook Marketplace after realizing our backyard had views, flowers, terraced rock work, city lights, and absolutely nowhere cozy to curl up with a coffee or glass of wine.

After one disappointing Marketplace stop and one very expensive furniture outlet visit, another ad caught my eye. A beautiful outdoor set. $750. Just off Blackfoot Trail.

That quick detour led us to West Peak Tile & Stone — and we ended up buying two patio sets.

Now I can choose between the downtown view or a quiet fire among the spruce trees and flowers.

Attention used to be enough.

A good ad. A clear offer. A few impressions. A customer saw your name and picked up the phone.

But that path has changed.

Today, people hear your ad, search your name, read your reviews, scan your website, check your social presence, compare you to someone else, and then decide whether you feel trustworthy enough to contact.

The ad may have worked.

The reach may have happened.

But if trust breaks somewhere along the way, the conversion never comes.

That’s why modern marketing has to be more than visibility. It has to build confidence.
