“So… do people actually work during Stampede?”
I get asked this every year — and every year, I laugh.
Because yes… we work. We network, we build relationships, we close deals — sometimes in cowboy boots, sometimes mid-line dance, and occasionally with a plate of ribs in hand.
Stampede 2025 reminded me why this city is so special.
It's not just the rodeo, the midway, or the glittery fringe (though those help). It’s the way clients, colleagues, and even total strangers show up — with pride, with heart, and with that unmistakable Calgary spirit.
After a tough year, seeing the bounce-back in energy, the eagerness to participate, and the genuine connections? That’s the good stuff. The “why we do what we do” kind of stuff.
To my clients: thank you for your trust and joy. Seeing your pride this week made my heart do cartwheels (don’t worry, only figuratively).
To my team: you made it all happen — with grit, grace, and a lot of caffeine.
And to Stampede itself: see you next year. I’ll be the one in the sparkly hat, pretending not to cry during the chuckwagon races.
