A reminder to members that today is your last chance to submit items for discussion at the AGM. Agenda items must be submitted in writing by 9:00 PM TONIGHT — Monday, October 5.

🗳️ BOARD POSITIONS UP FOR ELECTION

As we look ahead to the 2027 season, several director positions will also be up for election at the AGM. These are two-year terms unless otherwise noted:

• Secretary
• Raffle/Bingo/Casino Director
• Public Relations
• Sponsorship
• Circuit Director
• Membership Director
• Junior Director
• Finals Director
• Awards Director — 1-year term

Event Director positions:
• Pole Bending
• Goat Tying
• Barrel Racing
• Cow Riding

Even if you haven’t served on the board before, we encourage members to start thinking about where they might like to get involved. If you know someone who would be a great fit for a position, start the conversation!

Our association is built by members who are willing to step up, share their ideas and help shape the future of women’s rodeo. 💙

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Olive Hayne, a Life Member of the Canadian Girls Rodeo Association.

Olive was a true cowgirl who spent many years travelling the rodeo circuit, competing in roping, goat tying and steer undecorating. Her accomplishments in the arena included CGRA Steer Undecorating Champion in 1983 and 1993, as well as being named CGRA Cowgirl of the Year in 1977 and 1978.

Beyond her accomplishments in the arena, Olive was someone who was always willing to lend a hand and give back to the association she was a part of for so many years. Her dedication, competitive spirit and love of the rodeo life left a lasting mark on the CGRA.

We extend our deepest condolences to Olive’s family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest easy, Olive. Your place in the CGRA family and your legacy in women’s rodeo will not be forgotten. 🤍

2026 Finals Results are available on our website.

Arena will be open for riding Friday from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm, No Barrel, Pole or Barrier work allowed.  Arena will close at 3pm and no riding for the remainder of the weekend.

📣 2027 MEMBERSHIP RODEO — IMPORTANT INFO & AGM UPDATE!

We’re looking ahead to an exciting year for CGRA! Our 2027 Membership Rodeo is just around the corner, kicking off our 70th year! Here’s everything you need to know before we head to Brooks.

📋 AGM UPDATE

We’ve made a change to the AGM schedule to hopefully accommodate more members - The AGM will now be held Saturday, October 10 at 10:00 AM, before the rodeo.

The rodeo will begin no earlier than 3:00 PM Saturday or one hour after the AGM concludes, should the meeting run past 2:00 PM.

A Zoom option will be available for those who are unable to attend in person and would like to listen in. Please note that members must be present in person to make motions or vote.

📝 Agenda items must be submitted by Monday, October 5 to Jolayne Collings at [email protected]. If an item is not submitted for the agenda, it will not be open for discussion at the AGM.

Board positions up for nomination will also be shared soon, so keep an eye on the page for more information.

As we kick off the 2027 rodeo season and CGRA’s 70th year, we’re looking forward to getting everyone back together in Brooks!

With the AGM now taking place Saturday morning, we’ll be keeping our 70th-year celebration a little more informal. After Saturday’s performance, stick around, visit with your fellow members and bring your Co****le or other lawn games for some time together at the arena.

🏆 THAT’S A WRAP ON THE 2026 CGRA FINALS!

Four go-rounds. Three days of rodeo. Countless fast runs, big catches, determined cowgirls and unforgettable moments.

We’re wrapping up our 2026 CGRA Sudden Death Finals by celebrating the fastest times from each event! ⚡

But beyond the times and the results, Finals weekend is about the cowgirls, the horses, the families, volunteers, committees and everyone who comes together to make this weekend possible.

A HUGE thank you to our contestants for bringing the talent, determination and sportsmanship all weekend long.

To our volunteers, directors, rodeo committee, announcer, judges, stock contractors, photographers, videographer, vendors and everyone working behind the scenes — thank you. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

And to our 2026 Finals sponsors, thank you for investing in CGRA and helping us make this weekend so special for our members. Your support means so much to our association! 💙

And finally, congratulations to all of our 2026 Champions, Runner-Ups, Go-Round winners and award recipients! What a weekend! 👏
