we honour those that have come before us this month. we pay respect to their sacrifice, and offer our own. we celebrate and come together with family. we are based in moh’kinsstis
we see a lot of tipi imagery, and we question ourselves, what does that image mean to that organization? we see lots of feathers, artistic takes on different animals, inukshuks, and other images. so we call upon your organization to have a conversation with our team how they can deliver appreciation for the indigenous people of turtle island this month - better.
this mountain scenery shows the sky, the trees, and foliage that have been here longer than all of us. our appreciation each day goes to those that have taken care of this land located in treaty 7, home for time immemorial to the siksikaitsitapi, including Piikani, Siksika, and Kainai. the land was cared for by the Îyâxe Nakoda, including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley. this land also lended itself to the start of the tsuut’ina, and their ongoing home base. we share this space with Métis nation region 3.
