Alberta girlies, cancel the basic Saturday plans because we’re racing ZUCCHINIS instead 🤠🥒💅

The Chestermere Country Fair is back for its 37th year, and this wholesome country day is bringing everything from rodeo action and adorable farm animals to one of the most unserious competitions we’ve ever heard of.

Spend the day watching junior bull riding, bronc riding and mutton bustin’, wander through the Harvest Market for local goodies, meet cute animals at the petting zoo, catch sheep herding demos and take on family-friendly activities in the Kids Zone. 🎡🐑✨

And yes, the iconic Zucchini Car Races are happening too, where actual zucchinis get turned into tiny race cars and sent flying down the track. 😭🥒🏎️ There’s also a community parade, Red Ribbon competitions, a Charity Bull Riding event and, because every country fair needs a sweet treat moment, pie and ice cream. 🥧🍦

Best part? The fair is FREE to attend, although you’ll need a separate ticket if you want to watch the rodeo.

University of Calgary is making class a little more iconic with its Celebrity Culture course, where students can actually study the world of fame, fandom and pop culture 👀🎤

The course dives into how celebrity culture has evolved from Hollywood’s Golden Age all the way to today’s influencer era, plus how social media and AI are completely changing the way we interact with our fave celebs 📱⭐️

And yes, Taylor Swift is officially part of the syllabus, with students examining her as one of the examples of modern celebrity culture. Suddenly we’re VERY interested in doing the assigned reading 🤭📚
