I used to struggle to introduce myself at networking events.
Last week, 3 people wanted to talk to me about my services.

Here’s what changed ↓

Last week, I attended my first ScaleIQ Entrepreneurs Growth Network networking event. (Loved it!)

The concept:
1 hour.
6 intentional conversations.
And a focus on getting to know people rather than “selling.”

👆 These are the networking events I genuinely enjoy.

Before the event, I sat down and got clear on how I wanted to introduce myself in 2 sentences.

Because even when selling isn't the point, people are still going to ask: “So, what do you do?”

And when you're meeting 6 people in an hour, how do you make sure they actually remember?

It's not by sounding the most impressive.
Or having the most creative elevator pitch.

I wanted my introduction to be so easy to understand that someone else could repeat it.

That's something I didn't always know how to do.
I used to ramble through introductions.
I would mention different services.
Add unnecessary context.

And probably leave people thinking, “Okay...but what exactly does she do?” 😂

Now, I know what I want to be known for.

So when someone asks what I do, I can tell them:

→ what I do
→ who I help
→ why they might want to talk to me

And last week?
3 of the 6 people I met wanted to continue the conversation about my services.

And I already have one call booked for the beginning of September.

Not because I went into the room trying to sell.

Because the right people could quickly understand when and why they might need me.

⚡️That's the power of strong positioning.

If you struggle to explain what you do in 2 sentences, it doesn't mean you aren't brilliant at what you do.

You might just need to decide what you want to be known for first.

Because when people understand what you do, they can remember you.
They can refer you.

And the right people know when to come talk to you.

Pitching your LinkedIn connections right away? Stop. 😬

A new connection isn't a sales opportunity. It's the start of a conversation.
Be curious. Be human. Build the relationship.

You could be one conversation away from your next client.

Have you ever been pitched immediately after connecting with someone on LinkedIn?

18 months ago, she was a LinkedIn connection.
Today, she’s a client. 🙌

But it wasn’t 18 months of pitching.
It was small, thoughtful interactions.
Staying visible. Building the relationship. And letting the timing be right.

Because every new connection today doesn’t need to become a client tomorrow.
Some of my best clients took 6–18 months to become clients.

Which makes me wonder... how many potential clients are you giving up on too soon? 👀

This was my first lead from LinkedIn AND my first five-figure contract.
It started with a connection request I almost didn't send.

No pitch.
No complicated strategy.
Just getting visible in front of someone who already needed what I offered.
That connection turned into an $18K contract.

Sometimes, you don't need to wait for opportunities to find you. You can create them.
How are you using LinkedIn right now: mostly for content or to create opportunities?

08/18/2026

Growth on LinkedIn doesn't always feel like growth while it's happening.

It can feel awkward.
Uncomfortable.
Slow.
Cringe. 😬

But sometimes, that's simply what it feels like to build a new skill, show up differently and do something you haven't done before.

Don't mistake discomfort for a lack of progress. 💛
Because that uncomfortable feeling right now...that might actually be growth in disguise.

30 posts. Five months apart. The difference was night and day.
And it had very little to do with Mag's writing.

The biggest shift?
One post. One focused idea. One clear purpose.

That's how you stop creating content because you feel like you "should"...and start creating content that makes you known for your expertise AND creates real business opportunities.

And that's exactly what's happening for Mag. She's now attracting leads, clients and referrals through LinkedIn. 🙌

80% good enough is better than 100% perfect.

One of my LinkedIn Academy students recently shared that she’s publishing her content when it feels 80% ready.

I smiled because that’s a lesson that took me years to learn.

Perfection doesn’t help you improve.
Publishing does.

Every post gives you feedback.
Every experiment teaches you something.
Every time you hit “post,” you get a little better.

So here’s your reminder:
Done is almost always better than perfect.

What’s one piece of content you’ve been sitting on? Maybe it’s time to hit publish. ⚡️

Comparison is a trap.

Even after 6 years in business, I still catch myself wondering if I'm behind.

Then I remember...
Someone else's timeline isn't mine.

I'm not here to build their business.
I'm here to build one that's aligned with my values, my strengths, and the people I want to serve.

That's what lasts.

If you've ever felt behind while watching someone else's highlight reel, you're definitely not alone.

What's one thing you do to stay focused on your own path when comparison creeps in?

Nobody owes you attention.
Not on LinkedIn. Not anywhere.

It's easy to think that if you create a great post, people should engage with it.
But that's not how it works.

Attention is earned through consistency.
Keep showing up. Keep adding value.
That's how you build a client pipeline that lasts.

What are you doing this week to earn attention instead of expecting it?
