Did you know the Tidemark was once oceanfront? 🌊

This 1951 photo shows the theatre back when it was still the Van Isle...right on the shoreline, before the land was filled in. That’s actually how we got our name, Tidemark! Rumour has it, on stormy days, staff had to clear driftwood from the doors just to open up for showtime.

Our "Tidemark Through Time" gallery display brings these stories (and many more) to life with photos from over 75 years of community arts. Swing by the lobby during box office hours or before a show to take a peek into the past.
