Acorn author Stella Shepard sent us this photo, and we thought it was a lovely moment to share. Here's what Stella said about the background behind this wonderful photo. "After reading Natalie MacMaster's autobiography, I Have a Love Story to Tell, I reached out to her in May. We shared stories of motherhood, and I told her why I wrote The Baby Train. Her response was filled with warmth and understanding, and she personally invited a guest and me to her family's performance in Summerside on Sunday. Best seats in the house. ❤️

After the show, we exchanged books: I gave her an autograph copy of The Baby Train, and she signed my copy of her novel.

Before our photo was taken, she asked if she could hug me. As she embraced me, I felt my soul absorb her kindness and love; a moment of deep connection that I will forever cherish.

If you're in the Edmonton area later this month, LITTLE DAYS is having another Launch Party event at the city's iconic independent bookstore, Audreys Books!

Based on the song "Little Days" by The Bombadils (Sarah Frank and Luke Fraser) - a tune about the heart-tugging moments of early parenthood, this new picture book features stunning watercolour paintings by Sarah's sister, Veronica Chih Ming Frank.

The days speed by with little ones at home, making parents and caregivers nostalgic for precious moments while they’re still unfolding. Amidst finger paint, paper airplanes, and a sweater outgrown too soon, these grownups find themselves singing a wistful song, “My heart aches from being stretched so wide...in the ocean of my heart, you’re the rising tide.”
