Did a little 12 hour photo shoot on Saturday at the CBJJF Alberta Open for my client

It was my first full day shoot, and I had a great time and learned a lot about Jiu Jitsu.

It was also my first shoot with my new Canon EOS R camera. It is an awesome camera. I took about 700 pictures through the competition, and did it all on a single battery.

Very happy with the camera, the pictures, and the process. More to come.

I had a lot of fun on this photoshoot, has a contagious energy. The salon is in a cool space in a historic building, located in the downtown in Edmonton. The natural light and old bricks make the space a photographer’s paradise. Our goal for the shoot was to highlight her space and showcase some of the products that she uses. ⁠

I used my Canon Rebel T5, with my Canon 50mm Prime lens and a Canon 18-55mm lens. I also used the Lightroom Classic in Adobe to edit my photos. ⁠

For the first 2 photos, I used the 18-55mm lens, with a focal depth of 43mm. My ISO was set to 800, the F-stop to f/5.6, and my exposure time to 1/80sec.⁠

For the 3rd and 4th photos, I used the 18-55mm lens, with a focal depth of 18mm. My ISO was set to 800, the F-stop to f/5.6, and my exposure time to 1/80sec.⁠

For the 5th and 6th photos, I used the 50mm Prime lens. My ISO was set to 800, the F-stop to f/4, and my exposure time to 1/250sec.⁠

For the final shots, I used the 50mm Prime lens. My ISO was set to 800, the F-stop to f/5.6, and my exposure time to 1/100sec.⁠

Who else does this? I do all the work upfront, schedule my post and think I can just walk away BUT.... I can't stop myself from going onto Instagram and constantly checking to see how my post is doing, making sure my hashtags are working, and seeing how many people I am reaching.

I guess Instagram wins this round. Definitely doing their job to keep me on the platform.

I'll keep working on my self-discipline. Repeat after me, I am TRUSTING my process, and will see small GROWTH every day. Consistency is key, and the results will follow.
