Ampco was proud to produce the graphics we installed on glass panels for a unique art mosaic project located in Royal Columbian’s Gallery of Gratitude.
The Gallery of Gratitude was created to recognize and celebrate the many people whose dedication, generosity, expertise, support, and partnership have helped shape a new era of care at Royal Columbian Hospital. Unveiled on September 16, 2026, the permanent installation in the lobby of the new Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower brings together hundreds of individual portraits representing hospital staff, physicians, donors, volunteers, community members, and redevelopment partners.
The Foundation's inspiration was the belief that extraordinary healthcare is never the result of one person or one contribution. It is built through the collective efforts of many people, whether they provide care at the bedside, support patients and families, advance research and innovation, champion redevelopment, or contribute philanthropically. The Gallery was designed to make that shared contribution visible and to serve as a lasting expression of gratitude for everyone who has helped make the transformation of Royal Columbian Hospital possible.
The visual image created by these portraits reproduces an original artwork by Elinor Atkins that is displayed in the new emergency department. Elinor's inspiration for the original piece comes from her own artistic and cultural perspective as a Kwantlen First Nation artist. While the Gallery of Gratitude incorporates her artwork as its foundation, the installation itself was conceived as a tribute to the people and partnerships that have helped build Royal Columbian Hospital's future.
Now permanently displayed in the Tower, the Gallery of Gratitude stands as a reminder that while buildings and technology support care, it is people working together who make extraordinary care possible every day.

Our recent install at the Community Centre in the Katzie First Nation: This long house design is by local indigenous artist Rain Awakens - Creations by Rain Pierre that is a wonderful addition to the centre and community. Large format graphics are meticulously installed around the existing gym elements for seamless design flow.

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Ampco will be CLOSED Wednesday SEPT 30th in observance of this day.
We would like to begin by acknowledging that the land on which we gather and work is the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples - specifically the Kwikwetlem First Nation.
This day honors survivors of Residential Schools, the children who didn’t return home to their families and communities. This day is an opportunity to shed light on our painful shared history and ongoing impact of colonization, including the residential school system. Recognizing this day is an important part of the Truth and Reconciliation journey as a community and as a company.
Residential schools operated in Canada for more than 160 years with upwards of 150,000 children passing through their doors. Every province and territory, with the exception of Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and New Brunswick, was home to the federally funded, church-run schools. The last school closed in Saskatchewan in 1996. First Nations, Métis and Inuit children were removed from their families and communities and put into schools where they were forced to abandon their traditions, cultural practices and languages.
We encourage you to take time to learn about the history for Canada’s Residential School System, to talk and listen to Indigenous people about their experiences and share those experiences with others.
